1. Provide an example of a product that, if invented, would work as a disruptive innovation.

How
widespread would be the appeal of this product?

As a listener to spotify podcasts, I came to realize that it is somehow a disruptive innovation. Spotify
is best known for being a music streaming platform, it’s clear that it’s trying to position itself as being the
king of everything audio. Podcasts were introduced to the platform in 2015, giving users some variety of
what they could listen to. It actually makes playlist that is personalized to you as the listener based on
your music tastes and listening history. You’ll be able to enjoy that perfect blend of music and
commentary whenever and wherever you want, interactively and on demand. Listeners’ doesn’t have to
worry on signal problems with spotify. Spotify has clearly nudged them into the same competitive space
as Radios. However, radio offers real time information such as breaking news and traffic updates while
scheduled podcasts do not.

2. How would you propose to develop a new foothold if your goal was to compete in the fashion
industry?

Having natural talent is essential in fashion. But in a very competitive industry, this may not be
enough (Katzen, 2020). I believe that the most crucial part is their marketing and promotion strategy.
Enrolling to fashion courses, specifically fashion marketing that will teach you to run advertising
campaigns to promote fashion brands and products. What sets it apart is the fast-paced nature of the
fashion industry. As mentioned, it’s a very competitive industry so it really takes effort to stand out.
Devote your time to do meticulous research about the fashion industry. On the other note, sustainable
fashion is also a very practical way to develop foothold. However, sustainable fashion is also known to be
very expensive. So if possible, we should be able to find strategies where we can reduce the expenses to
lower the cost of the products. In that way, customers can get their quality satisfaction in a competitive
prices compared to fast fashion.
