WHY BELLOW SEAL VALVE ?

It has been proven through various studies about process plant emissions
that 75% of leakages cause:
1) Environment pollution.
2) Production Loss.
3) Process problems and
4) Energy loss.

In line with present emphasis on prevention of environmental pollution and


energy saving, it is necessary to arrest completely, these leakages.
Moreover, today's most competitive market conditions demand improvement in
process methods and cut down on production costs for self-existence.
Irrespective of proper selection, installation, periodic and preventive care on
conventional valves, leakages cannot be totally eliminated. Though
performance seems to be satisfactory initially, they are bound to leak through
gland after some operations.
Selection of Bellow Sealed Valves is the only solution for this problem.
Therefore, use of Bellow seal valve is on the increase.
UKL Bellow Seal Valves are highly recommended for : Therminol -66,
Dowtherm Vapour, Hot Oil/HTM, Vacuum, Steam, Ammonia, Refrigerant,
Phosgene, Chlorine, Hydrogen, Oxygen, CO, Hazardous and Poisonous liquids/
gases, Radioactive substances etc..
ADVANTAGES

Inclined design in Forged construction :


UKL has its own die for body forgings and bonnet is
mounted inclined, as a result of which ‘Standard Port’ is
possible, thereby giving better flow characteristics.

Encapsulated Design : UKL Bellow Seal Globe Valves


can be provided with encapsulated Bellows, which are
protected from particles, velocity of flowing media, Bellow
erosion etc. Thus ensuring long life of Bellow.

Eurochlor : UKL Bellow Seal Valves are manufactured as


per Eurochlor design for Chlorine application and can be
supplied under ‘Third Party Inspection’.

3 Piece Design : Keeping in mind the changing


requirement and very critical applications, where long
Bellow life is required or higher number of cycles are
expected, UKL has 3 pieces design to accommodate any
length of Bellow with no change in Body/Bonnet pattern.

Bellows : UKL Bellow Seal Valves are provided with


Hydra Brand Bellows imported from Witzenmann GmBH,
Germany, market leader in Bellow manufacturing. Bellows
in UKL valves are designed to withstand 10,000 Cycles for
Globe Valves and 5,000 Cycles for Gate Valves under
standard working conditions.

Valves with Bellows designed for higher cycles are


available on request.

A Valve coefficient C, is used to calculate pressure drop through a


Kv = Cv x 0.85 particular Valve for a given flow rate. The coefficient of flow C, expressess
the rate of flow in gallons per minute at 600F water with a pressure drop of
1 psig across the valve. The C, coefficients for the various types of sizes,
