4. Give the decimal form of 48%

F. Discussing new concepts Visualizing percentage using ratio

and practicing new skills.
#3
A ratio is a comparison between two qualities.

To change a percentage to ratio just follow these steps.

Step 1: Obtain the percentage
Step 2: Convert the percentage into fraction by dividing it by 100 and removing percentage
symbol (%).
Step 3: Reduced the fraction obtained in step 2 in the simplest form.
Step 4: Write the fraction obtained in Step 3 as a ratio.

Express each of the following percentage as ratios in the simplest form:

Ex. 46% = 46/100= 23/50 = 23:50

1. Give the decimal form of 20%

2. Give the decimal form of 35%

3. Give the decimal form of 1 %

G. Developing Mastery Directions: change the following percentage using fractions, decimal and ratio. Write your
answer on your Math notebook.

Fraction Decimal Ratio

1. 53%
2. 60%
3. 88%

H. Finding practical Let us answer the problem

application of concepts and
skills in daily living
I. Generalizing and Ask: What is the relationship of percentage to a fraction, decimals and to ratio?
If your data is written in percentage form, Can you write it in fraction form? How can we get?
Abstraction about the Lesson. Percent equivalent of ratio and fraction?
Remember
• Percent means, per 100 or you can think of it as, “Out of 100”.
• Percent can also be written as fraction, decimal and ratio. Percent means the whole is divided into 100 equal
parts.
• To change percent to decimal, move the decimal point two places to the left then remove the percent
symbol.
• A ratio is a comparison between two qualities.

J. Evaluating Learning Directions: Give the following fractions, decimal and ratio. write it on your notebook.

1. 23%
2. 56%
3. 89%
