Installation Procedure for 2300 Series Scanners

IMPORTANT:
This procedure must be carried out only by BK service personnel or their authorised
representatives. The procedure covers unpacking and set-up of the system including
connecting to the power outlet and a possible network connection.

All scanners leaving the factory are configured for mains voltage 115/220V, European TV
standard (PAL) 50Hz - 625 lines and English language. The main voltage does not have to be
changed as the power supply accepts 115 and 220V

2 Unpacking the scanner

2.1 Remove the protective packing material from the scanner

(this drawing can also be used as reference for repackaging the scanner)

3.1 Slide down the monitor on the monitor bracket

4 Mount the Cable holder

4.1 If mounted remove the two M4x8 screws using a Torx #20 screwdriver

4.2 Place the cable holder and mount it with the two M4x35 using a Torx #20 screwdriver

5 Mounting the Endo Transducer Holder UA2357 (optional)

5.1 If mounted remove the two M5x8 5.2 Position the Endo Transducer Holder as
screws using a Torx #20 screwdriver shown below

6 Installation of integrated printer UA2353 - UP-D711MD (optional)

6.1 Dismount screw Torx 10

Use Key from package or a screwdriver 6.2 Pull out Cover Drawer

6.3 Dismount 2 screws Torx 10 6.4 Cable through slot in Cover drawer.
Remount 2 screws again

6.5 Push back the Cover drawer and 6.6 Mount Chassis with 3 screws M3x8

6.7 Connect printer 6.8 Push in printer

7 Installation of Printer Start-Up kit UA2359 - UP-D898MD (optional)

7.1 Put the Printer upside down 7.2 Fix it to the shelf using the 4 screws
from the package

The USB cable for the Printer need to be connected to the scanner either on the front or on the
back (behind the Lid) For a permanent mounting it is suggested to mount it as shown below
where it is connected to the front disconnecting the cable for the internal printer

7.4 Remove the back lid by removing the screw and pull the cover a little from each other so
that the lid can be removed

7.5 Remove the two screws at the front of 7.6 Remove the two screws at the bottom
the left side cover

7.7 Carefully slide off the cover and turn it so you can remove the two screws holding the
power switch

7.8 Dismount the screw Torx 10 here: 7.9 Pull out the cables for the internal printer

7.10 Loosen the USB cable from the shroud

7.11 Identify which USB cable that goes from the internal printer shroud to the Engine

7.12 Disconnect the USB cable that goes to the 7.13 Connect the cable for the External USB

just removed a cable

7.14 Mount the Power Splitter box on the bottom of the Scanners Series 2300 engine, with two
screws (3x5 mm) by using a TX10 screw driver

November 2015.

7.15 Connect Power output cables from splitter box to Scanners Series 2300 engine and to printer.
Connect the USB cable to the printer

8 Connecting mains cable and Wi-Fi USB module

Connectors on the back of the Scanner – connect the mains cable and other cables if needed

To comply with IEC60601-1 the network connection to the scanner must be isolated from the hospital network (Medical 230 V isolation). If
the hospital network does not fulfil this the network isolator DP0925 must be used

9 Changing Language, and System Time

9.1 Turn on the scanner and wait for it to complete the boot up sequence

9.2 Click on the Image tab

9.3 Then Click on Advanced

9.4 Click on Customize

9.5 Select System

9.6 Select the Language

9.7 Click Adjust Date and Time... to adjust to local time – a warning will come up:

9.8 Click OK

9.9 Select the correct Time Zone and then adjust the time if necessary

9.10 Click OK

9.11 Restart the scanner by turning it off and then on
