Day 2

“The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.”

The quoted lines are taken from Robert Frost's poem “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening”. The lines
indicate the fact that even though the speakerwas tempted to stay in the beautiful forest, he would continue
his journey due to his commitments and unfinished business.
The speaker found himself in an attractive place in the woodshe was passing through. The area looked
particularly breath-taking in a snowy winter nightand being away from civilization, it offered peaceful
solitude as well. That is why the speaker had the temptation to stay there. But he could not do so because of
his sense of practicality. He remembered that he had jobs to finish and promises which he had possibly made
to himself or his loved onesand it led him to choose the more realistic option. This situation is also a
reminder of the truth that people cannot always run away from everything just because they want to; they
have to consider their responsibilities and commitments before making any sudden decision.
