Minimum requirements:
• Grade 10
• Entry level Coaching certificate
• 2 Years Sport & Recreation Experience
• Applicants must be between the ages of 18 – 35

Key Performance Areas:


• The successful candidates will be responsible for:
• Increasing knowledge and understanding of the coaching process in the code.
• Introducing roles and responsibilities for coaches regarding Child Protection, Welfare and Equity.
• Developing and empower coaches to assist qualified/higher level federation coaches working in
Clubs, leagues and junior sections.
• Providing coaches with a better understanding of the delivery of code skills through safe, effective
and organized practices.
• Enabling assistant coaches to carry out coaching roles within a game situation.
• Helping develop and provide additional support for code programmes.
• Delivering a coaching programme using a range of coaching styles and interventions to meet
participant’s needs.
• Modifying and evaluate the effectiveness of coaching programmes to modify future plans and
meet participants’ needs.
• Initiating projects
Competencies/skills:
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A thorough understanding of sport administration and Federations
• Good organizational, interpersonal and overall communication skills (written and verbal
• Ability to work under pressure
• Understanding of the socio-economic dynamics of the province and the country
• Computer literacy
• Conversant in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape
