7 Course Description This course explores the fundamental principles, processes and practices anchored on the
educational philosophy of learner-centeredness. It covers the knowledge, skills and
attitudes in planning a training session which includes identifying learner’s requirements,
preparing session plan, preparing instructional materials and organizing learning and
teaching and assessment resources. It also deals with the competencies in delivering
competency-based training session which covers preparing training session, conducting
pre-assessment, facilitating training session, conducting competency assessment and
reviewing delivery of training session.
8 Course Learning Outcomes 1. Describe the ways by which students differ.
2. Identify the different factors that motivates learners.
3. Discuss and differentiate the different learning theories as applied to classroom
situations.
4. Identify and differentiate direct and indirect assessment.
5. Analyze classroom situation and recommend appropriate teacher behavior.
6. Relate current events with available historical data to help students develop critical
perspectives towards social studies;
