 INTRODUCTION
Poverty is a curse. Pakistan is a poor and underdeveloped
country. Most of its population lives in adverse circumstances. Some reports reveal that more
than 40% population of Pakistan lives below the line of poverty as shown in Figure 1. These are
instability of the economic system in Pakistan due to which difference of living standard
between rich and poor is increasing day by day. A large number of people are unable to access
basic life necessities such as food, cloth, etc. Poverty leads to many other social and economic
problems like health and education, robbery, snatching and many others. This creates long
term impact on the society as a whole.

Charity is the basis of our religion Islam. Pakistan is considered to be one of the leading
countries in term of charity or donations. Under above said circumstances, the need of charity
cannot be undermine. In the current world, there are number of way to do charity. "Wall of
Kindness" commonly known as "Dewar e Meharbani" is one such way that become worldwide
viral. This concept will help the poor to fulfill their basic needs of life.

PROBLEM
"Wall of Kindness" is based on the simplest principle ‘leave if you do not need it and take if you
need’. Figure 2 shows one the many Wall of Kindness in Pakistan. Currently, it works in this
way. There are designated places in the city that are marked as Wall of Kindness. Those who
wish to donate can leave their donations on these spots and those who are in need can visit
these places and can take it. This structure of wall of kindness is prone to following problem:

1. Wall of Kindness are localized so they can serve a limited number of people.
2. Some part of city donates more, while the people in need are less.
3. If a donation is not selected by someone in time, it goes wasted due to the
environment.
4. These Walls can be categorized as vandalism.

 SOLUTION
So, what is the solution to the problems highlighted above. Solution lies with the efficient use of
modern technology. To solve these problems, we propose an online platform available in the
form of mobile application (App). We call this App Dewar-e-Meharbani and its logo is shown in
Figure 3.

APPLICATION STRUCTURE
This application will consist of three types of member’s; donator, volunteer and user. The role
of each member is explained below:

1. Donator:

These are the member with the donation. If they want to make a donation, all they need to do
is to take its picture and post it on the App with their location Tag. Soon someone from other
type of member will contact them to pick up donation.

2. Volunteers:

These are the members who are willing to donate their time to the charity cause. They have
two main roles to play. Firstly, on the request of any user they can pick up the donation from
Donator and deliver it to the user. Secondly, If they know someone that do not have access to
the app and are in need of something that is available on the App then they can collect it on
their behalf and deliver it to them.

3. User:

These are the user in need of donations. So whenever a donation is made by donators in their
locality they will be informed about it. Then they can contact the donator to pick it up themself
or can request a volunteer from their locality to pick it up on their behalf. They can also browse
through the app for the donation made by donators of other localities or can search for specific
items.

 CONCLUSION
Dawar-e-Mahrbani is one of the finest ways to help the needy people. This will help the
underprivileged people to fulfill their basic necessities of life. As a society, this will create
environment of charity as whole and encourage citizens to participate in the charity or donation
as much as they can. In the broader perspective, the initiative will boost the economy and
reduce other social diseases. Underprivileged people will be able use their limited resources for
development of life rather than fulfilling basic necessities.
