IV. PROCEDURES

The learners will begin the week 3 module by means of


reading the introduction about ‘’HEALTHY LIFESTYLE’’ on
Grade 9 Science Module page 13.

The learners will do the Learning Task 1 on page 14 of


A. INTRODUCTION Grade 9 Science Module. They will perform a simple
(1 day) exercise and sign on a pledge of commitment.

Goal Orientation:
 The learners should be able to identify ways of
preventing diseases in the respiratory and circulatory
systems
 The learnes should be able to explain the importance
of a healthy lifestyle in avoiding such disease.

The learners will do the Learning Task 2 on Grade 9


Science Module page 15. The students will use the
chart/figure to prepare a monthly health pledge.
B. DEVELOPMENT
(1 day) The learners will move on to Science Worktext: Healthy
Lifestyle. They will study the concepts inside the worktext
and answer the questions found on “Think of This”.

After the learners had learned about how healthy lifestyle


affects one’s life, they will answer the reflection. The
students will write what they had learned, the most exciting
part of the lesson and what is something challenging about
the lesson.

The learners will move on to Learning Task 3 of Grade 9


Science Module, page 16. They will gather their family
members as they do the activity. They will do a group game.
They will answer the questions after the game.

C. ENGAGEMENT
The teacher may also give additional task to the learners.
(1 day)

Additional Task:

The learners will do the Learning Task 4 on page 17 of


Grade 9 Science Module. They will make a menu for the
week.

The learners will do the Learning Task 5 on page 17 of


Grade 9 Science Module. They will choose only five
questions to analyze and identify the status of the family.

D. ASSIMILATION
After the learners had learned the healthy lifestyle and
how it affects the function of the respiratory and circulatory
(1 day)
system, they will answer the Test Sheet.
