Subject: Statement of Purpose

INTRODUCTION
I would like to first make a brief introduction and then proceed to give an overview of my academlc
background. My sole purpose of writing this application is to acquire student visa to pursue further
study in Australia and explain the motives behind my choice being TMG College, Australia as well as
to state my future career objectlves. My fuil name is Evan Deuja and I was born on 25th November,
1999 to Mr. Uttam l(umar Deuja and Mrs. Gita Deuja. i'm currently residing in Budhanilkantha,
kapan-3, Kathmandu, Province-3 and my place of origin is Gairl Gaun, 01 Panauti, Kavrepa la nchowk.
My mother passed away after suffering a fatal stroke when I was a mere 3-year-old and since then I

have been living in a joint family. I have to state, my family's bad luck, my father faced fatal bike
accident three years back which led to severe spinal injury. Since then I have pondered on how I can
get good access to quality education to take care of my father as well as other people who have had
such kind of injuries as I am not from medical background. Finaliy I found such program where I

could support my father as well as make my career in it. I intend to take the course of Certificate lV
in Disability from 08/10/2018 to 29109/2019 and Diploma of Community Services from t4/10/2019
to 04/0412O21, at TMG Colleee, Australia.

ACADEMIC QUAI.IFICATIONS
Icompleted my School Leaving Certificate (SLC) from Kathmandu University High School and
secured overall 84.50 % in 2015.Then, in 2017, I completed my Higher Secondary Education Board
(HSEB) from Trinity lnternational Secondary School securing 64.40%. A:fler graduating high school, I

helped in my uncles business and it was indeed a tough choice for my parents when ldecided to
travel to Australia for study, as Australia is really far and I have no family lhere but I am sure it will
benefit me in the future- Hence, as part of the admission requirements I gave my IELTS on 25th Nov
2017. I gave the IELTS test and achieved an overall band score of 8.5 {listening - 9.0, reading - 8.5,
writing - 7.0, speaking - 8.5).

WHY AUSTRALIA FOR FURTHER EDUCATION?

Australia is well known for quality education, is more receptive of international students and
students who had studied in Australia have seen very qualified and successful in their career.
Another reasonable factor for choosing Australia is because of its friendly, laid-back nature of the
people and the civil culture as weli as the high standard of living. lt is also widely known that
Australian Universities hold higher ranks worldwide and they have a good range of training provider
colleges to choose from. Australia has over 22,000 educational courses across 1,100 institutions.
Universities in Australia have also received excellent ratings for teaching quality, research and
graduate employment opportunities. Australia offer a wide variety of courses and degrees, so
international students can easily find the school and field that are right for them. Students who
study in Australia can take advantage of the country's impressive technology and research
resources. Australia provides two year post study visa which is a plus point as it might help to gain
some work experience in one's chosqn field, and which isn't provided in the US or in the UK. Another
point is that Australian Universities don'i require SAT scores. When compared to other top
countries, Australia is economical in terms of living and post study work (PSW) visa for foreign
students after the completion of their studies which allows us to build professional skills and work
experiences from a world class organization. Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) has
systematized the education system of Australia and existence of ESOS Act has protected the rights of
foreign students. Australia contains 7 out of top 1"00 universities worldwide and 6 out of top 30 most
livable student cities around the world. Additionally, Australia is the international hub for highly
recognized education. When it comes to costs, Australia compares favorably with other top
destination for lnternational stucients. Above all, it is highly recommended by Nepalese students
currently studying in Australia, who seem very pleased and satisfied with everything ln Australia.

WHY NOT HOME COUNTRY?

I may have considered studying at my home country if I had opted for any of the STEM subjects. But
as I have chosen an unconventional path of study (in Nepal's context) and have always aspired to
excel and scale new heights, i have chosen Australia. There are only few colleges that offer
qualitative diploma courses foundational to later pursuits at the University level, and even fewer
that are reputable (accredited) and accommodate learning in the English language. Furthermore, the
field of community services/counseling is either non-existent or poorly facilitated in the Colleges due
to it being relatively obscure and also having next to no recognition in academia. Though similar
courses are available, Nepalese education providers seem to have been providing knowledge-based
degree and not skills based. The course contents are found to be more theory-oriented and less
research intensive. These factors prompted me to search for a destination abroad for my higher
studies. As education in Nepal iacks practical and systematic knowledge, diploma courses for areas
such as community services/counseling, that don't attraci many students, have a poorly structured
curriculum. Similarly, giving out questionnaires and similar writing works is as far as any student is
expected to do by way of practical studies. Despite making remarkable strides in education in the
recent decades Nepal still lacks competitive and experimental knowledge in study. After a thorough
consideration of my choices, I have chosen to continue my studies in an Australian University. I

firmly believe that "the best way to learn is to learn from the best" and this constitutes the true
motivation behind my present appl;cation.

WHY NOT OTHER COUNTRIES?

I researched colleges in other English-speaking countries such as Ul( and USA. Apparently, the UK
and the USA don't offer extensive program in their vocational educatlon section. On top of that the
universities of USA ask for SAT/ACT test but Australian Universities don'i. Also the government rules
like TPS and ESOS Act are not available in other countries. Living expenses, tuition cost are
considerably lower in Australia than in The UK and USA. This was a huge factor as affordability plays
a significant role. ln terms of security too crime rates and gun violence are nowhere as high as they
are in the USA and so Australia is a safer destination for international students. Bearing all this in
mind, I choose Australia as my education destination and I am sure that I will be benefited choosing
Australia for my further study.

WHY MELBOURNE?
First of all, I have decided to study at TMG College's Melbourne City Campus. Staying away for nearly
30 months in new place wlthout family and in a foreign culture is not a small deal but I feel myself
capable of adjusting to the new environment and embracing the culture. I also looked up the
location of the campus and the surrounding was very ideai and beautiful (411 l(inB Street, West
Melbourne). The city of Melbourne has more of a diverse environment and I think that is conducive
to blending in and socializing for a foreigner like me. Melbourne is the best student city in Australia
and the third best student city in the worid, according to the prestigious QS Best Student Cities 2018.
Key features such as Victoria's high Standard and quality of living; vibrant multicultural society and
social inclusion attracted 200,000 international students to Victoria in 2017.
standard and quality of living; vibrant multicultural society and social inclusion attracted 200,000
international students to Victona in 2017 .
Often called Australia's cultural capital, Melbourne is home to the attractions that make the Australian
lifestyle so appealing. Since networking is a huge advantage for a new student in any field, I believe a
good social life in Melbourne could prove invaluable down the line. Melbourne's ranked as the 10th best
city in the world for'employer activity'which makes it an even moTe attractive destination. Even though
Melbourne is not that cheap, I found the living costs to be considerably less than it normally is in
a Sydney. Even more, I can experience high standards of living for the money I will be spending. From
the information l've received, there are student-friendly budgeted areas to find accommodation. So,
taking allthese into consideration I made up my mind to choose Melbourne for my stay and study.

WHY TMG COLIEGE?

Before choosing college in Australia, I did research about different colleges and universities where I

found Colleges fee structure reasonable. So, I started seeking for different colleges which are at their
best. Considering my strong interest and previous qualifications that fit with the degree, I found to apply
to TMG College, Australia. After doing a fair amount of research on the internet and searching for
suitable Australian training colleges I realized that while some were too expensive, others were rated
poorly by different sites. During my research ALACC Health Coilege Australia was an appropriate option
for me but the tuition fees was AUD515,000 yearly which was not that reasonable and comparing
Australian Academy of Management and Science whose tuition fees was AUDS10,500 yearly with the
tuition fee of TMG college is AUDS8500 where, I could save more than AUDS2000 and can utilize it for
other expenses. So, as a whole TMG college was the best suited for and was a best option considering
my financial capability and my academic potential as well. The college offers an excellent range of
vocational, higher education and research products that will be helpful for continuing studies in a
University in the future. They are one of Australia's leading private training providers. They have a 10-
year track record of success in designing and delivering Government funded, nationally recognized
training qualifications. They also offer more than 60 qualifications (at Certificate, Diploma and Advanced
Diploma level) across a range of industries. As a Registered Trainlng Organization, they adhere to the
comprehensive training delivery requirements of the VET Quality Framework (VQF).
TMG College is a renowned lnstitute in Australia. The affordable tuition fees, qualitative envlronment,
students from multicultural background and highly qualified mentors are the reason behind my
intention to pursue my further education at the very College. TMG College is also popular for innovative
courses, excellent teachlng system, and high-quality education. Another major fascinating fact about
this college is its reasonable cost and suitable location. After attending the seminars and analyzing the
student reviews, I found this College providing prope. encouragement and support especially to the
overseas students such as student membership and student support system. Considering all these
reasons, I have decided to opt for TMG College. The class size of TMG College is aiso small ensuring
every student to get equal attention of all teachers. Moreover, TMG College offers additional tutorial
times for students to work in smalier groups with their trainer and encourages students to work in their
own place. TMG College opens a pathway for students to enier into most universities in Australia and
prepare them for real life work.

WHY CERTIFICATE IV IN DISABILITY?

I studied subjects in the humanities branch in higher secondary school and the psychology,

CAREER PLAN AFTER THE COMPLETION OF COURSE:
ln addition to a personal thirst for knowledge, my motives beh;nd studying Certificate lV in Disability
and Diploma in Community Services also lie in helplng to lay a proper foundation for the field of
Community Services here in Nepal. Firstly I would like to continue my educaiion for bachelors after
the completion of Certificate lV and Diploma Course. Upon completion of my bachelor's study, l'll
combine the structures of Counsellng for disability (rehabilitation Counseling) and community
service. After that l'll return back to Nepal with all the practical and qualitative knowledge with
added value CV. As an academic sub.iect and a field of this study are still in its embryonic stage in
Nepal, I intend to use the acquired knowiedge and possibly the acquired experience to further and
expand the practice of counseling. Here, I can seek employment wlth non-profit organizations, social
services groups, government agencies and other community assistance organizations doing work as
a Disability Management Counselor Trainee, Child advocate, Service coordinators, Program
directors, Case managers, Grant writer in major organizations such as Nepal Society of the disabled,
Handicap international and Nepal Disable Human Righi Centre where I could expect salary of
minimum NRS. 45,000 to NRS. 50,000 monthly. Further I have plans to facilitate counseling work for
the unprivileged and the dispossessed in the rural parts of Nepal. Through such approach, I will even
learn about human development, community involvement, social services and advocacy. Above
mentioned companies is the top organization of Nepal which provides several facilities to their
employees. According to various researches, these organizations are providing high range of salaries
as well as allowances to the employees, The employees are benefited with the tangible and
intangible benefits. Tangible benefits are incentives whereas, iniangible benefits are working
environment, emotional support and many more. it can be mentioned as handsome salary,
incentives based on profit, insurance, (sick, annual, family, exam, special) leave, remote working
policy, flexible working hours, gratuity, welfare, bonus, paid holidays, employment training and
promotions etc. in addition, employees get an opportunity to get international exposure through
these companies as they send their employees for different training programs in foreign countries
while many employees also get awarded with foreign trips upon successful completion for work
target or any achievements. Since Nepal has stlll a long way to set its benchmark in the global
standard of Counseling and service giving. Unfortunately, these Organization still lack universally
practiced and high standard of actions in service to the community for which international exposure
and highly skilled forces is required. The globally reputed degree and international work experience
that I gained will be an advantage to succeed in my career in the field of my interest and I will
benefited by the best employer and companies facilities as mentioned above-

MY UNDERSTANDING ON VISA CONDITIONS

Here are the few obligations of a student under higher education visa subclass 500. Some of the
points are as follows:
r I should have Overseas Siudent Health Cover (OSHC) for the full duration of stay in Australia.

GTE VERIFICATION
ln addition, I am well aware about CTE (Genuine Temporary Entrant), where requirement applies to
all student visa applicants and considers whether the individual circumstances of the student
indicate that their intention is for a temporary stay in Australia. A genuineness assessment is made
by taking into account a number of personal factors relating to the student, such as their
immigration history, circumstances that might encourage the student to return to their home
country and conditions that might encourage them to remaln ,n Australia.

ACCOMMODATION
ldo not have any relatives in Australia. However there won't be any problem for me regarding
accommodation when I reach Australia as I went through the
links https://flatmates.com.au, www.gumtree.com.au and many more I found some affordable
apartments near my campus that suits me.

CONCLUSION
On a more personal note, I would be grateful to receive the opportunity to study in such a fine
training college and pave the way for joining a university later on. I also assure you that while in
compliance with all the visa condition under visa sub-class 500, I will complete my course in proper
