On the basis of the found tools, the Paleolithic man was divided into many
groups.
Out of which, 2 groups were for found to have more artistic qualities.

Cave Paintings found from

ALTAMIRA (Spain)
Discovered by a hunter Marceline in 1868, he was accompanied by his eight-year-
old daughter, Maria, who first noticed the paintings of bison on the ceiling.
He returned in 1879 to excavate the floor of the cave's entrance chamber,
unearthing animal bones and stone tools.

LASCAUX (France)
On 12 September 1940, the entrance to the Lascaux Cave was discovered by 18-
year-old Marcel Ravidat, when his dog, Robot, fell in a hole. He returned to the
scene with three friends, Marsal, Georges, and Simon.
They entered the cave through as they believed might be a legendary secret
passage to the nearby Lascaux Manor.
The teenagers discovered that the cave walls were covered with depictions of
animals.
