Tasks:

You are working in the advertising department of a chemical company and


your job is to increase public awareness about different elements. You will be in charge of advertising one of the more
than 100 elements that combine in a multitude of ways to produce compounds that make up all of the living and non-
living things that are found on Earth

WHAT TO DO (PROCEDURE)
1. Create a six-panel brochure that highlights the important information about the
element that has been assigned to you.
2. The brochure must be colorful, neat, and contain the following required
information:

o element symbol
o atomic number
o atomic mass
o periodic table location
o melting point
o boiling point,
o natural state of the element (solid, liquid, gas)
o density
o physical appearance
o type of element
o origin of element’s name
o name of person/persons who discovered the element)

I Am an Element Superhero

Task:
Design a superhero using the properties of the element in the periodic table.

Introduction:
Congratulations! Marvel Movie Studio has just hired you to create and direct its brand-new superhero
summer blockbuster movie. Only one problem… they don’t have the new superhero yet. So, it falls on your
shoulders to create the superhero.

Mission:
Your job will be to use the periodic table of elements to research an element, and then use the
properties of the elements to create a superhero.

Process:
1. Select an element from the periodic table of elements for your character.
2. Decide whether your character will be a superhero or a villain.
3. Research the physical and chemical properties and other information for your element.
4. Decide on the product you will present to the movie producer (Superhero Creator, drawing, 3d Model,
etc.
5. Written summary of your superhero’s powers, and the powers correspond to the properties of the
chosen element
