Oil cooler insert, removing

With coolant drained off and turbocharger removed

Remove:

The silicon hose, 1.


The coolant jacket, 2, and pull the pipe out from the coolant pump.

Put double M10–nuts on the studs and remove the studs from the exhaust manifold pipe.

Remove the plug from the flywheel side of the coolant vent cover.

Remove the coolant vent cover's retaining screws. Angle the coolant cover's lower edge outwards
as shown in the illustration. Move the cover backwards, 1, and turn it past the charger, 2.

Remove the oil cooler insert's four retaining screws and lift down the oil cooler insert.

Oil cooler insert, installation

Clean the sealing surfaces on the oil cooler insert and the engine block. Put new seals in the
engine block. Mount the oil cooler insert and tighten the fixing screws to specified torque according
to specification.

Clean the sealing surfaces of the coolant vent cover, and the engine block,. Use a new seal and
glue it on the coolant vent cover with contact glue.

Angle out the coolant vent cover's lower edge as shown in the illustration. Move the cover
backwards, 1, and turn it past the charger, 2. Lift the cover into position.

Put on all the coolant vent cover's retaining screws loosely. Tighten screws, 1 and 2. Then tighten
the remaining retaining screws crosswise outwards. Torque 24±4Nm.

Use new seals and smear with Vaseline. Push the coolant pipe into the coolant pump and push on
the coolant jacket. Pull the jacket into position in the coolant vent cover. Put on the silicon
hose.Torque 24±4Nm.

Put on and tighten the studs in the exhaust manifold pipe.

Put a new seal on the plug, smear it with Vaseline and mount it in the coolant vent cover.
