Analysis
The song I chose was “I Want It That Way”, it was produced by the Backstreet Boys.

The vocal group consisted of Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, AJ McLean, Brain Littrell,

and Howie Dorough. “I Want It That Way” was released on April 12 1999. It is still one of

the most popular pop songs in the world, today. The song peaked holding the title of

number 6 on the BillBoard hot 100 chart. The Backstreet Boys created a song that is a

beautiful song about the aches of love. It makes you empathize and sympathize with the

singers while simultaneously making you want to sing it all day.

The lyrics of this song are sensitive and the target audience is primarily made of

teenagers. It opens up with a strong word “fire”; it reflects an image of passion, paired

up with desire. But it's interesting to note that not only do the singers want that person to

be their fire and desire but they also state that they want it to be “that way”.

The nature of this song is of a relationship that is struggling. In the phrase “I want it that

way”, the singer wants to make their relationship work with their significant other,

whereas the significant other wants to give up and leave. 

The choir states the singer questioning the other person's motive for the breakup which

the other person counteracts with the fact “it’s a heartache” and that it was a mistake.

However the singer states that he doesn’t want to hear the words to end their

relationship. It shows the two sides of the relationship and the two different thoughts in

the singer’s mind as well. 

The main idea is that the singer is able to convey to the person that he does not regret

being in love nor does he want his lover to have any regret either.

Emily Dickinson  was born on December 10, 1830. She was brought up in Amherst

Massachusetts. She died on may 16, 1886. She was known for her poems because

they were published without titles which made the reader think and empathize more.

Only 10 of Emily Dickinson poems were published and known  world wide. While 1,800

proms are known to have been published in her lifetime. Emily Dickinson had two

siblings Austin and Kavina Dickinson. She was the oldest of all 3.

The main theme of this song about love, the person undying passion for one another.

This beautiful poem touches the heart of any being as it reflects the deep message of

humanity and love. It gives perfectly plausible ideas to make the world a beautiful place

for everyone.

God manifested love in nature to contribute your significance as a human.

Her nature poems are full of liveliness and beauty. It depicts the virtues of genuinely

wonderful souls, acts of kindness, with no expectation of a reward. Kindness is an act of

compassion,humanity,love,empathy, and caring about feelings of others. With respect

to treat each other with courtesy and honor since God chose you to be tender

hearted,merciful, gentle, and patient with all those who exited in this world.

This poem instills warmth in every being either human or any creature to whom it's

meted out to. She was telling in the poem if I care for any soul and just always mend

their heart from breaking into pieces and always feel empathy for their pain it means my

life will go in vain and have purpose to live it fullest. 

The first stanza of her poem is an idiom because one's heart can not actually break into

pieces, she also talks about how she wants to be there for her loved ones so they can

have a shoulder to cry on and bounce back to life better than ever. She doesn’t wanna

die in regret and with any burden of grief in her heart which makes her regret her

actions. 

Both the poem and song are related in many different ways. Both of them are about

grief and how they don’t want to be let down by love or end up in regret. They both also

are in the category of romance and hopeless love.  Both also talk about how they want

to Cherish their lovers and don’t want to let them go and move on without them.
