UNIT 2 TEST

SPEAKING PAPER

TIME: 1−2 MINUTES

Teacher: Ask the student ONE question from EACH part of the test – five questions in total. Mark
each part out of 5 (refer to the Teacher’s Guide for help). Total the student’s marks at the end and
divide by 2.5 to give their final mark out of 10.

For each part (1–5), once the student has spoken one or two sentences, move on.

Important: Ask students to use full sentences and not just give yes/no answers.

Part 1 (Grammar 1, Page 19)


Teacher: Ask the student ONE of these questions, A, B or C.
A Have you ever worked during the summer holidays?
[Function: use the present perfect]
B Have you ever been to another country?
[Function: use the present perfect]
C How long have you lived in this neighbourhood?
[Function: use the present perfect]

Part 2 (Grammar 2, Page 21)


Teacher: Ask the student ONE of these questions, A, B or C.

C What will you probably do when you finish school – go to university or something else?

Part 3 (Speaking topics from Pages 17, 18 and 20)


Teacher: Ask the student ONE of these questions, A, B or C.
A You’re going on a school camping trip. What are the three most important things to bring?
