IV. COMPREHENSION QUESTIONS


1. How would you define marketing ?
 Marketing, which is sometimes called distribution, includes all the business activities
connected with the movement of goods and service from producers to consumers or
user.

2. What two types of activities are associated with marketing ?

 Marketing is made up, on the one hand, of physical activities such as transporting,
storing and selling goods an, on the other hand, a series of decisions undertaking any
part of the process of moving goods from producer to user.

3. What specific activities come under the heading of marketing ?


 Marketing operations include product planning, buying, storage, pricing, promoting,
selling, credit, traffic and marketing research.

4. Why do you think producers must be able to predict trends ? Can you think of an example
when a producers of manufacturer did not predict a trend well ?

 I think the producers should know the state of the growing market today that can
determine the going on sale of merchandise.
For example, if the manufacturer does not know the current trend is the development
of the products are not appropriate customer standard, which result in loss of the
company.

5. How has mass consumption been made possible in the U.S. ?


 The trend in the U.S has been to high mass consumption, and what has been described
as “conspicuous consumption”.
