Introduction
I chosed to write about kidneys because i like finding facts about organs and stuff like that.

Kidneys job

We have two kidneys. It`s the kidneys that forms the urine. They sit right behind the peritoneum.
The right kidney is a little bit smaller than the left one and sit a little bit lower than the left one.
That is because of the liver. They are important for rest of the body because they hold liquid and
stuff stable, and they also get rid of waste products. The waste products get transported by the
blood, and to the kidneys. Then the waste products and water get rinsed out as urine (Erik

Look
The kidney`s weight is about 120-160 gram and 11 cm long. Around the kidney`s there`s a layer
of fat as protection. New born babies have uneven kidneys. The kidneys have a pelvis renalis,
that’s were all the urine get collected. The color is reddish-brown.

Kidney stone
Kidney stone`s get made when salts get petrified. The stone can lay still, or they can wander
against the bladder. If they are by the bladder they can block the way and then you can feel big
pain. More and more people get kidney stones. 55 present of the people that have it get it because
some in the family has it. So, it can go thru heritage. If you have kidney stone, it will hurt on the
side of your back or in your belly. But you can get a operation if it really hurts (Terje

There is many different sizes of them. some of them can be big, and some can be small.
Positive and negative
Some people are born with only one kidney, and some people must remove one of their kidneys.
It`s many reasons that someone must remove one, but it can be because you have a tumor on one
of your kidneys’ or that you have an issue with your kidney. The positive is that if you have to
remove one, you can live a normal life. You can also donate a kidney, so if someone is sick and
need a new one they can get yours.

History
in many years people have been researched about kidneys. They have tried to find out how we
get diseases and if we can see it in the urine. Someone came with the idea “what we eat can
explain why we get diseases. One guy came up with an idea that we had diseases because of
Toxins, and that we could see it in the urine. In years they have tried to research on urine, they
have tried to find out why the urine have different colors and some tried to make gold out of
urine! But no one managed it.

It was fun to work with this text because I learned a lot of new things. I don’t know what the
most important fact is, but maybe that the kidneys hold the body stable and get rid of waste
products.
