Teaching Philosophy:
As an early childhood educator, providing a safe, holistic environment where each students’

personal needs are met during the learning experience is a priority. I strive to share my personal values

in joy, peace, and love with all members of the learning community: children, colleagues, and parents.

By doing so, I hope to model these values for students so they will learn how to respect others of various

ages, self-regulate their emotions, and discover their own innate worth.

Young children learn best through hands-on experiences such as play and problem-solving

opportunities. My classroom is influenced by the constructive theories developed by Lev Vygotsky and

Jean Piaget and benefits of the Reggio Emilia Approach. To manage behaviors, an authoritative

management plan where students will be corrected with positive statements that share the expected

behavior will be implemented. By incorporating values-based learning in a constructive Reggio Emilia

classroom, students will be given the opportunity to learn in a developmentally appropriate

environment how to be productive students and citizens.
