1.0 SCOPE

1.1 This Practice covers the requirements for the Toledo Refinery standard title block design and drawing
layouts.
1.2 Any deviation to this Practice must be approved by the procedure described in EP 1-1-3.
1.3 A revision bar indicates all changes made to Revision 1.

3.0 DEFINITIONS

3.1 Additional Notes - Designations which identify additional attributes of a piping system, see EP 5-1-1.
3.2 CAD Supervisor - The Toledo Refinery employee responsible for all CAD services and drawings at each
refinery.
3.3 Seed File - AutoCAD parameters set up for default conditions for various drawing types.

4.0 GENERAL

4.1 This Practice contains a general symbol library and seed files. The symbols have been selected from
widely used national and industry standards. If additional symbols are required for a particular project,
the Toledo Refinery review and approval by the Owner is required as per EP 1-1-3, before the new
symbols can be added to the symbol library.
4.2 The Owner’s symbol library is on the AutoCAD. A diskette can be provided upon request, from the
Owner’s Engineer. Copies of the symbol cells are shown in the figures located in the back of this
Practice.
4.3 Copies of the AutoCAD seed files on diskettes will be furnished by the Owner upon request.
4.4 The borders and cut lines are set up in the AutoCAD seed files for the various types and size drawings.
4.5 All drawings prepared for the Owner including P&IDs, PFDs, electrical, civil, piping isometrics, plans,
maps, etc., drawings shall be shown with the title block.

5.0 DRAWING TITLE BLOCKS

5.1 Site–specific title blocks have been created as AutoCAD blocks and are part of the symbols library.
5.2 The detailed text for title blocks shall be specified by the CAD Supervisor.
5.3 A standard title block for the Toledo Refinery is shown in Figure 1.
