Dear Mr. Rudebusch:

I am writing to you today in regards to my shadowing for my senior project. I have chosen to shadow a
Tattoo Artist/Piercer. I will be shadowing the amazing tattoo artists and piercers that work at Lucid
Illusions in Watertown, SD.

I chose to shadow a tattoo artist and/or piercer because throughout my life I have seen my middle sister
get tons of piercings and once she turned 18 I have seen her get a few tattoos. It has interested me in all
the skill and knowledge behind this profession. I am excited to learn about tattoo and piercing even
though I am not a person who has or wants to get tons of piercing. I have always loved art and found it
interesting to see tattoos on people. I look forward to meeting new people, watching artists get to put their
art on someone’s body for the rest of their life, and to see people get stabbed just to have a jewel in their
body. I don’t have any concerns about shadowing this year or to be shadowing a tattoo artist. I have
talked to the tattoo artists and/or piercers at Lucid Illusions in Watertown, SD. They said I could shadow
there and it wouldn’t be a problem. I plan to wait until next Monday before I get the sheet signed in case I
do find a photographer to shadow. The guys at Lucid Illusions know this and might know some
photographers I could possibly shadow.

I hope to achieve knowledge about where to properly pierce someone for what piercing. I would love to
know all the proper techniques for piercing someone. Along with knowing how to tattoo someone. I love
art and watching artists put their art work out for display to spread the amazing talent they have is
something I look forward to.

Sincerely,

Anna Flisrand
