TOR about Conversation “ENGINEERING ISSUE”

“How to repair a buildings which is have been collapsed and how to make sturdy
buildings”
(Cases of Collapsed Building in Slipi, West Jakarta)

Explanation Team :
A = Owner
B = Construction Engineer
C = Mechanical Engineer
D = Mechanical Engineer
E = Electrical Engineer

 OPENING PART

A. : Hi, Good Morning all. How are you ? I hope all of you are fine. Let me introduce my
self. My name is Vinsca. I’m the owner of this collapsed building in Slipi.
So guys, Before we going to the point of our new project, I think all of you can
introduce about your name and position of this project.
A. : OK, thank you guys. Nice to meet you all. And Welcome to our new team. I hope
this project can be run smoothly in the next.

 POINT OF MEETING

A. : Ok guys, I think all of you already knowing about this issue. The first floor of the
building houses has a minimart that has escaped relatively unscathed despite large
chunks of concrete collapsing on it. And because of that cases, we must to repair all
of the part of this building.
So first, especially in construction and mechanical, We must demolished and clear all
the part of collapsed building. And in the last, we must build the new one. Then,
don’t forget in electrical, we must think about how to coordinate with the electricity
company (PLN) in order to remove the old power, and replace the new power. What
do you think about this guys?

B. : I think, I agree with you. We need to surveying first on the site (in Bridgen Katamso,
Slipi, West Jakarta). And then making the new demolitions team. Beside we
surveying, we must prepare what kind of heavy equipment that we need to this
demolition work. Maybe the mechanical team can help us to break this case.

C. : Before we going out to demolition work. Yeah, I think the heavy equipment that we
need to prepare to fix out this demolition is :
1. Excavator (….. tambahkan sendiri)
2. Dump Truck (….. tambahkan sendiri)
A. : Any else?
D. : Yeah, may be we need to prepare the support tools like : Hammer, Pry bars,
screwdrivers. (….. tambahkan sendiri)
1. In screwdrivers Not all demo work requires the heavy hand of a
sledgehammer. You can do some serious damage to your gas, water and cable
lines if you go in swinging. Buy a few different screwdrivers to help with the
more delicate work. Taking apart electrical outlets and switches is always the
first part of a wall demo and you can't do that with a sledgehammer.
Screwdrivers are also good for taking up small pieces of wood flooring and tile
when you aren't removing the entire floor. Buy a long flat head, a standard-
sized flat head and at least one Phillips head screwdriver. That should cover
you in most situations. The chisel ends of the flat head screwdriver can act like
a small, lightweight pry bar as well.
2. Hammer If you have a tough demolition job ahead of you, you're going to need
a few different options for hammer time. Start with a standard claw hammer.
This classic tool can do small pry jobs when a crowbar isn't necessary as well as
take out buried nails. It's also good for knocking small holes in drywall when
you're looking for power, water or gas lines. The next step up is the heavy
hammer, also called a mini-sledgehammer. It's about the size of a claw
hammer, but has a heavy sledge head for stubborn tasks. This hammer is also
great for knocking wood support beams and interior framing. The final piece of
the hammer puzzle is the full-sized sledgehammer. When you need the extra
weight for brick work, nothing else will do.
3. Pry bars There aren't many demolition jobs around that don't require the use
of a crowbar at some point, so it's a good place to start when collecting demo
tools. A well-placed crowbar can safely pry most any kind of nailed wood. It can
also be handy for taking up old tile and wood flooring and pulling out
stubborn nails. Pry bars come in all sizes, but two carefully selected ones
should get you started. Buy one medium sized S-shaped crowbar, something
between 18 inches and 2 feet (46 to 61 centimeters). That will be tough
enough to pull up most any interior framing wood. Also buy a smaller, flat pry
bar. Stanley Tools makes the "Wonder Bar" -- a tool that will benefit almost
any demo job. It's lightweight and durable, and because of its flat shape, it can
get into tight spaces that a crowbar can't. You'll also need a claw hammer to
use along with each of these.
A. : Hmm, ok. How about the next in constructing?
B. : yeah, after already do about demolitions work. We move to constructions works.
(…..tambahkan sendiri)
A. : So, how about the power ? is there have an enough power to support all this
working ? (if needed to turn on the mechine)
C. : Yeah, I think we must to do like this. The first step is, to consult the experts. Look
for temporary power companies to work with that can help you determine the
power solutions you need. Once you’ve chosen to work with a company, there are
still several steps to getting temporary power on your construction site. This
process can take anywhere from 1-8 months depending on the local utility
company (PLN) and municipality or permitting authority, so make sure you start the
process early on.
The second is, Before work can begin on your construction site, you’ll need
temporary power. And to get that power, you’ll need to work with a company that
can determine the power solutions you need. Generators are an obvious option for
temporary power, but almost always a more expensive option than a system that
utilizes the power from the local utility.
A. : Ok, so whats next in construction ?
B. : (constructing work) (….. tambahkan sendiri sesuai ide)
