ICTNWK405 Build a small wireless local area network

Existing office works network set:

Office works currently has 6 routers, 2 printers which are connected to switch and router via
wire

Client business office works requirements,

All devices such as 6 pcs, 2 printers needs to be wireless to avoid wire issues.

Hence the company wants to build a network wireless.


On router4 1941:

To set an ip address and subnet mask for router interface

Go to router4

Then click CLI,

Then select gigabit Ethernet 0

And then set the ip and subnet mask


Access point1

In order to have wireless network in office works, they need access point

To configure access point

Select port 0

Then SSID name as OFFICE WORKS

And set WEP-1010202020


Printer1

To configure printer

Select printer 1,

Then type SSID as OFFICE WORKS

They set WEP-1010202020


Then set the wireless card wmp300n in devices
PC0

To connect pc0 to access point

Click pc0

Then go to desktop

And then select pc wireless


Then select the wireless network name-OFFICE WORKS

And then click connect


And then set password 1010202020

And click connect


Now pc 0 has successfully connected to accesspoints
Testing from pc 5 to printer0
Printer received the packet from pc5

Necessary hardware required to connect

To build a wireless connection hardware devices are required such as Router, access point, 3
personal computers and 2 printers.

To set an ip address and subnet mask for router interface

Select port 0

Then SSID name as IMPERIAL LAB

On pc0

Just click pc0

Go to physical and switch adapter

Selectwmp300n wireless adapter in order to have wireless network in imperial lab


To connect pc0 to access point

Click pc0

Then go to desktop

And then select pc wireless

Now select wireless network name-IMPERIAL LAB


And then type password wep key 1-1010202020
Now pc 0 has successfully connected to accesspoint

TESTING

FROM PC0 TO PRINTER 0


Packets received successfully on pc0

Installed and configured access point to provide wireless access to LAN.

Selected position for access point based on the computer lab set up.

Computers and Printer can be connected to the wireless LAN.

Developed Implementation of pairing the devices (computer and printer).

Tested the wireless LAN to be used successfully
