The sloth can be crocheted from any yarn, but the most
important thing is to choose the right hooks: the ratio of
the thickness of the yarn and hooks should be 2:1 (the
yarn for the body should be twice as thick as the yarn for
the eyes and claws) (the consumption of yarn can vary!).

When using the following materials you will get a sloth 25-
30cm/11" tall (used yarn Himalaya Dolphin Baby/YarArt
Dolce).

Consider the fact that each crocheter has her/his own

crochet style and thread density, the sizes and
proportions can differ from those that are specified in this
crochet pattern.

6

YOU NEED:

 plush yarn (you can use any other yarn taking into account
the appropriate hook size):

Attention! The consumption of yarn YarnArt Dolce in more than

Himalaya Dolphin Baby (but a toy will be larger), that’s why you
should use one more ball of main color or take hook of less
number (3 – 3,25 mm).

- a ball of main color 120m/100gr (Himalaya Dolphin Baby,

YarnArt Dolce, etc.);
- less than a half of a ball of additional color (face, tummy
and paws);

for personal use only

7

- a bit of pink plush yarn for blush (you can use cotton yarn);
 cotton/semi-cotton yarn (YarnArt Jeans, Alize Cotton Gold,
etc.):
- white, black and additional shade for eyes;
- brown for nose and claws;
- of any shade (pink) for bow;
 thin yarn of the body color (to sew body parts);
 hooks 3,25 – 3,5 mm (for the body), 1,5 - 2 mm (for the
eyes);

Attention! Depending on your crocheting density, thread

tension, crocheting method (tick / mixed / cross ← watch
the video), you should correctly choose the hook size. I
crochet in a mixed way (capture on top, then capture on
bottom), medium density crocheting. In this crochet pattern I
use a 3,75 mm hook for plush and 1,75 mm for semi-cotton
yarn.

 needles of different length and size;

 pins to mark the nose and mouth;
 a stitch marker (a pin) to mark the beginning of the row.
 filler;
 good mood and inspiration :)
