The article delves into the exclusive opulence of all the trivialized languages that enrapture and

beguile those who pay heed to them, and yet are becoming ruffles in the folds of true regality
characteristic of the intumescing, forgotten fabric of the universe, undervalued to the extent that it
breaks the heart. Language is alluring, whether it’s the phrases of qawwali surging out of chapped
lips, or the majestic ghazals as they play on a radio in a dilapidated cottage or the bemusing verses of
acclaimed poets quoted by many, understood by few. However, globalization has siphoned the
essence of the mother-tongue; pools of scarlet diction witnessed mostly by immigrants. They dwell
in neighborhoods where association with English, the universal tongue, determines one’s literacy.

uproot the tree that gave us shelter once; the tree which once put to shame all other shrubs.
