MIDTERM ASSIGNMENT

Guidelines for Microteaching MIDTERM Assignment 


 

For your assignment, you are expected to teach a brief lesson (5 minutes), applying clearly
defined teaching skills to carefully prepared “grammar teaching presentation stage”

In order for each student to receive a valid midterm grade, the lesson plans must be presented
by the student during the course hours. The lesson plans that are not presented will be
deemed invalid and the student will be deemed not to submit the midterm paper.

On the submission deadline (Spring Midterm assignments submission date) students will
submit the lesson plans, uploading on MEBIS. 
  
The points to be taken into consideration in the grammar teaching presentations:

1. the attempt to ‘’isolate’’ a specific grammar feature for focused attention


2. the learners are asked to ‘’produce’’ structures containing the targeted feature
3. the learners are given the opportunity for ‘’repetition’’ of the targeted feature
4. Consciousness-raising- an attempt to give the learner an understanding of a certain
grammatical feature.

5. the learners are given ‘’data’’ which show the targeted feature;
6. the learners are supposed to utilise ‘’intellectual effort’’ to understand the targeted
feature.
