Study Island – 8th Grade ELA Student Learning Standards

The following is a weekly assignment chart dedicated to ensuring completion of Study Island by
April 2018. Students must complete the assignments online at www.studyisland.com by the due
dates shown next to each assignment. Students must see me prior to a due date if Internet access is
not available at home as alternative assignments can be made available.
Homework credit is earned each week for successful completion of a topic. Successful completion
occurs when a student passes the topic with a blue ribbon based on a minimum of a ten question
test. If you do not achieve a 70% or above on the initial ten (10) question test, you must complete
an additional ten questions. Do not rush through an assignment. Read the lesson carefully prior
to starting the test. Read the test questions carefully before selecting the best answer from the
choices provided. Study Island will be checked by 7am on the day it is due.
NOTE: For the first assignment, the Diagnostic Pretest - English Language Arts, you must complete
a 30 question diagnostic pretest before you begin the rest of the Study Island topics.
