I highly recommend Conner Susalla as a candidate for any Spanish secondary education position. I
have had the pleasure of working with Conner as my student teacher since September 2020. He
taught Spanish 1 and Spanish 2 (entirely virtual) at Lincoln High School in Warren, Michigan.

Conner’s background of the Spanish language is very impressive. This was obvious in the way that
he could make the vocabulary and grammar concepts easy for students to understand. He
demonstrated excellent planning and preparation for the students. His lessons and activities were
well-developed and appropriate for students of varying learning abilities and styles.

While this school year has been a difficult year for all, Conner has also shown great resourcefulness
and flexibility when navigating through the newness of online teaching/learning. He is innovative in his
use of technology and is very open to utilizing different tools to help students reach their full potential
with learning Spanish.

In Conner’s classes, the students were always treated with respect and warmth. He managed to build
a good rapport with them even while being virtual. His attitude was always positive and patient, which
made for a great classroom environment. He has a good sense of humor and uses it appropriately. It
is very clear that Conner has a strong desire to work with young people.

I am very glad that Conner has chosen education as his profession. I would highly recommend him
for any Spanish teacher position at the secondary level in which he is interested. I would be happy to
speak with you further about Conner’s teaching skills.
