Coronavirus

The last few days we have been presented with a health phenomenon that is perhaps
worrying. I want to explain about the recent coronavirus infection that is currently endemic in
various countries in the world. The viral disease that scientists call Novel Coronavirus (which
means a new type of coronavirus, abbreviated 2019-nCov) is also known as the Wuhan Flu virus.
WHO has released the status of the 2019-nCov virus infection as an outbreak phenomenon in
order to increase global alertness. Disease rates continue to be reported progress, and so far
continues to increase in various countries.

The origin of this virus and how it is transmitted between humans is still being
investigated. Just for our insight, the 2019-nov virus, which is the first case in the Wuhan area,
China, in biological studies is a type of virus from the coronaviridae family as the respiratory
infection virus SARS-Cov and the MERS-Cov virus in the Arab region recent years discussed
and popular at moments of Hajj and Umrah. Many analyzes are presented regarding the origin of
this disease. Based on the release of the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention),
coronavirus is suspected to be zoonotic, which is initially transmitted through animals. Although
thought to be of animal origin, this coronavirus is thought to have passed a series of mutations in
itself so that it can infect humans. This 2019-nCov infection attacks the upper and lower
respiratory organs, attaching to the lining of the airways from the nose, throat, to the lungs.

In some cases, this infection can be asymptomatic or just like the common cold. But
considering the incubation period of this disease around 2 to 14 days, then in this time span the
condition of the body needs to be observed. This virus is transmitted between humans through
the air from coughing or sneezing, skin contact, or after handling a place exposed to the virus.
Symptoms of respiratory infections due to coronavirus in general are fever, spasms, difficulty
breathing and spasms, followed by other symptoms such as joint pain, fatigue, nausea, vomiting
and decreased appetite. Symptoms can be severe in the case of patients with weak immunity or
who have had certain diseases before. In certain conditions, this disease causes pneumonia.
When there are complaints of respiratory tract that does not improve after a few days as above,
seek treatment immediately to the nearest health facility. Basically, virus infection can be
prevented through transmission of clean and healthy behavior. Although it is easily transmitted,
it can also be anticipated.

WHO released the steps of at least that could be done for the public general in order to be
spared from the risk of contracting the disease virus-nCov 2019 in particular , and generally for
disease virus or infection more. Steps This includes maintaining the cleanliness of hands and
breathing and processing food were good. Frequently wash your hands with a solution of
washing hands based on alcohol (for hands that are not too dirty) or wash hands using soap and
water flows (for after traveling far or hand looked dirty) cough and sneeze with a safe, which
closes the mouth and nose when sneezing with folding elbows or wipes. Wipes are immediately
removed, and hands washed immediately. Reducing direct contact with people who are coughing
or colds, it is recommended to use a mask. If you have symptoms of fever, cough, and a sense of
tightness and difficulty breathing that occurs more than three days, immediately treated to
facility services health nearby. In the conditions are not healthy should not traveling or consult
first to a doctor. When a visit to the market which reported no patients affected by coronavirus,
always use gloves hand/safety when holding animals which are sold either alive or dead. Always
cook meat, eggs, or other animal parts until cooked. Avoiding consumption of livestock or wild
animals that are suspected of being hosts or intermediaries for virus transmission .

Although it's contagious, once again: prevention can begin with self-protection when sick
and maintain the cleanliness of the body, hands and goods that we consume. Remember, hands
are the easiest medium for transmission of disease so it is important for us to be diligent in
washing hands with soap or alcohol-based solutions in the right way. In addition, coronavirus
disease is reported to be cured through supportive therapy through intensive care and monitored
in hospitals, with supervision on nutritional intake, overall body system, and administration of
drugs that can reduce symptoms. May the government have taken preventative and handling
steps. The task of the general public is to access appropriate education, not be affected by
inaccurate news, and of course to maintain cleanliness and food consumed. Until now, research
on this virus continues to be researched and studied.
