DL CoMP (FDD) Feature Parameter Description 3 Overview

3 Overview

3.1 Introduction
In 3GPP releases earlier than 3GPP Release 11, physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH)
data of LTE cell edge users (CEUs) cannot be sent with the help of adjacent cells to improve
the performance of CEUs. This gain can be achieved by downlink coordinated multipoint
transmission (DL CoMP) based on TM10 introduced in 3GPP Release 11.
DL CoMP enables multiple cells to cooperate to perform downlink transmission. DL CoMP is
implemented based on TM10 introduced in 3GPP Release 11. Multiple cells cooperate based
on ideal backhaul (intra-BBU backhaul or backhaul based on multi-BBU interconnection
through USUs) to process and transmit PDSCH data by using antennas of neighboring cells.
USU refers to universal switching unit. Downlink transmission by multiple cells adopts two
modes, dynamic point selection (DPS) and joint transmission (JT), to improve hotspot cell
capacity or CEU performance. eNodeBs can adaptively select an appropriate transmission
mode based on the cell load and channel quality.

DPS
In DPS mode, the coordinating cell sends PDSCH data to the UE to increase the hotspot cell
capacity, CEU throughput, and average UE throughput.
Figure 3-1 illustrates the DPS mode, in which PDCCH data of the UE is sent by cell 1 (the
serving cell), and PDSCH data is sent by cell 1 to cell 2 (the coordinating cell) and then sent
by cell 2 to the UE.

DL CoMP (FDD) Feature Parameter Description 3 Overview

Figure 3-1 DPS

JT
In JT mode, both the serving cell and coordinating cell transmit PDSCH data to improve the
throughput of CEUs with a low signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR).
Figure 3-2 illustrates the JT mode, in which
l PDCCH data of the UE is sent by cell 1 (the serving cell), and PDSCH data is sent by
cell 1 to cell 2 (the coordinating cell). Cell 1 and cell 2 allocate the same RBs to send
PDSCH data to the UE.
l The UE receives the same PDSCH data from cell 1 and cell 2 simultaneously.

3.2 Related Concepts

Table 3-1 lists the concepts related to DL CoMP.

Table 3-1 Related concepts

Concept Definition

Coordinating cell A set of 10 neighboring cells that cause the strongest interference to
set of the serving the serving cell as measured by the eNodeB
cell

Serving sell A serving cell is the cell that UEs access.

DPS UE The eNodeB uses algorithms to determine whether a UE meets the

DPS threshold conditions. The UE that meets the DPS threshold
conditions is a DPS UE.

JT UE The eNodeB uses algorithms to determine whether a UE meets the JT

threshold conditions. The UE that meets the JT threshold conditions
is a JT UE.

Coordinating cell The eNodeB identifies the coordinating cells for a DPS or JT UE
of a DPS or JT UE based on the event A3 measurement report sent by the DPS or JT UE.
The coordinating cells of a UE belong to the coordinating cell set of
the serving cell of the UE.

eX2 interface When USU-based multi-BBU interconnection is used, the eX2

interface is responsible for service coordination between eNodeBs.

3.3 Architecture
DL CoMP is implemented through the cooperation of the U2000, USU, eNodeB, and UE.
Figure 3-3 to Figure 3-5 show the networking diagrams. If DL CoMP is performed among
BBUs, time synchronization is required across the entire network.

4.1 Principles
Figure 4-1 shows the DL CoMP process, including selection of a coordinating cell set,
selection of CoMP UEs and coordinating cells, and multi-cell coordinated transmission.

Figure 4-1 DL CoMP process

4.1.1 Selection of a Coordinating Cell Set

The eNodeB selects a coordinating cell set as follows:
1. After DL CoMP is enabled, the eNodeB selects a coordinating cell set for the serving
cell based on the neighboring cell information reported by UEs.
The DL CoMP algorithm switch settings vary with networking scenarios.

2. The user sets the NCellDlRsrpMeasPara.DlRsrpAutoNCellMeasSwitch parameter to

ON(On) and the NCellDlRsrpMeasPara.NCellDlRsrpMeasA3Offset parameter to a
desired value.
3. By collecting information on neighboring cells that meet event A3 reporting conditions
once every hour, the eNodeB selects 10 neighboring cells that cause the highest
interference to the serving cell as the coordinating cell set for DL CoMP. If micro cells
exist, the eNodeB preferentially selects micro cells (6 at most), and then selects macro
cells to form a coordinating cell set.

4.1.2 Selection of CoMP UEs and Coordinating Cells

After selecting the DPS or JT serving cell, the eNodeB selects coordinating cells and CoMP
UEs based on the preset load thresholds.

4.1.2.1 Entering the DPS Mode

The process for a UE to enter the DPS mode is as follows:

1. DPS serving cell selection is triggered.

Figure 4-2 Triggering of DPS/JT serving cell selection

eRAN
DL CoMP (FDD) Feature Parameter Description 4 DL CoMP

As shown in Figure 4-2, when the PRB usage of the serving cell is greater than the
threshold specified by the CellDlCompAlgo.DpsServingCellDlPrbThd parameter and
the serving cell is a macro cell, the eNodeB selects the serving cell as the DPS serving
cell.
2. The eNodeB selects the cells with the strongest RSRP in the coordinating cell set as
coordinating cells.
If the RSRP of a neighboring cell of the UE minus that of the serving cell of the UE is
greater than or equal to the coordinating cell RSRP threshold plus the coordinating cell
RSRP offset, the UE reports event A3. If the neighboring cell that meets the event A3
reporting conditions belongs to the coordinating cell set, it is selected as a coordinating
cell.
– In HomNet networking scenarios, the coordinating cell RSRP threshold is specified
by the CellDlCompAlgo.HomnetDpsCoCellRsrpThd parameter, and only the
macro cells with the strongest RSRP in the coordinating cell set can be selected as
coordinating cells.
– In HetNet scenarios, the coordinating cell RSRP threshold is specified by the
CellDlCompAlgo.HetnetDpsCoCellRsrpThd parameter, and only the micro cells
with the strongest RSRP in the coordinating cell set can be selected as coordinating
cells.
– In HomNet and HetNet hybrid networking scenarios, the micro cells with the
strongest RSRP in the coordinating cell set are preferentially selected as
coordinating cells.
NOTE

The system automatically configures the coordinating cell RSRP offset to prevent ping-pong
configuration of TM10 for UEs.
3. The eNodeB selects DPS UEs.
If the coordinating cells selected in 2 meet all of the following conditions, the eNodeB
selects the UEs as DPS UEs and configures the TM10 mode for them.
– The PRB usage of the serving cell minus the PRB usage of a coordinating cell is
greater than the value of the CellDlCompAlgo.DpsLoadDiffThd parameter.
– The number of UEs in RRC_CONNECTED mode in a coordinating cell divided by
the number of UEs in RRC_CONNECTED mode in the serving cell is less than or
equal to the value of the CellDlCompAlgo.DpsCoCellUserRatioThd parameter.
The selected DPS UE is regarded as a UE in the coordinating cell.
– No PCI mod 3 conflict exists between coordinating cells and the serving cell.

4.1.2.2 Entering the JT Mode

The process for a UE to enter the JT mode is as follows:

1. JT serving cell selection is triggered.

As shown in Figure 4-2, when the PRB usage of the serving cell is less than or equal to
the threshold specified by the CellDlCompAlgo.JtServingCellDlPrbThd parameter, the
eNodeB selects the serving cell as the JT serving cell.
2. The eNodeB selects the cells with the strongest RSRP in the coordinating cell set as
coordinating cells.
If the RSRP of a neighboring cell of the UE minus that of the serving cell of the UE is
greater than or equal to the value of the CellDlCompAlgo.JtCoCellRsrpThd parameter

Issue 05 (2018-11-07) Copyright © Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. 11

eRAN
DL CoMP (FDD) Feature Parameter Description 4 DL CoMP

plus the coordinating cell RSRP offset, and the neighboring cell belongs to the
coordinating cell set, this cell is selected as a coordinating cell.
– In HomNet networking scenarios, only the cells of the same site type as the serving
cell and with the strongest RSRP in the coordinating cell set can be selected as
coordinating cells.
– In HetNet networking scenarios, when the serving cell is a macro cell, only the
micro cells with the strongest RSRP in the coordinating cell set can be selected as
coordinating cells.
– In HomNet and HetNet hybrid networking scenarios, the cells with the strongest
RSRP in the coordinating cell set are preferentially selected as coordinating cells.
However, when the serving cell is a micro cell, only micro cells can be selected as
coordinating cells.
NOTE

The system automatically configures the coordinating cell RSRP offset to prevent ping-pong
configuration of TM10 for UEs.
3. The eNodeB selects JT UEs.
If the coordinating cells selected in 2 meet both of the following conditions, the eNodeB
selects the UEs as JT UEs and configures the TM10 mode for them.
– The PRB usage of a coordinating cell is less than the value of the
CellDlCompAlgo.JtCoCellDlPrbThd parameter.
– The spectral efficiency for the CQIs reported by the UEs is less than that for CQIs 5
and 8 in the case of single-codeword transmission. For details about CQIs 5 and 8,
see Table 7.2.3-1 4-bit CQI Table and Table 7.2.3-2 4-bit CQI Table 2 in section
7.2.3 "Channel Quality Indicator (CQI) definition" in 3GPP TS 36.213 V12.9.1.

4.1.2.3 Exiting the DPS or JT Mode

If a DPS or JT UE reports exit event A3, the eNodeB disables TM10 configuration for the UE
and configures the UE as a common user.

4.1.3 Multi-Cell Coordinated Transmission

After the eNodeB determines the DPS or JT serving cell based on the downlink PRB usage
threshold, the transmission mode used by the serving cell is also determined.
As shown in Figure 4-3, the eNodeB delivers two sets of CSI measurement configurations to
a CoMP UE for measuring channel state information (CSI), including precoding matrix
indication (PMI), rank indication (RI), and CQI, of the serving and coordinating cells,
respectively. The eNodeB transmits data in DPS or JT mode based on the CSI measurement
results reported by the UE and the scheduling information of the serving and coordinating
cells.

4.2 Network Analysis

4.2.1 Benefits
Gains
This feature improves the downlink throughput and user experience of CEUs.
l DPS increases the capacity of hotspot cells and improves the CEU throughput and
average UE throughput when the network load is heavy and imbalanced.
l JT improves the throughput of CEUs with a low SINR when the network load is light.

Most Beneficial Scenarios

This feature is recommended when all of the following conditions are met:
l The inter-site distance is less than 500 m in densely populated urban areas.
l The average downlink PRB usage of hotspot cells is greater than 40% in heavy-load
scenarios. This condition is more easily met in macro-micro networking scenarios.
l The average downlink PRB usage of cells is less than 20% in light-load scenarios.
l Most UEs move at a speed lower than 10 km/h.
l The penetration rate of TM10-capable UEs exceeds 70%.

4.2.2 Impacts
Network Impacts
l When DPS takes effect, PDSCH data of CEUs in the heavily loaded serving cell are
offloaded to coordinating cells. In this way, more resources are available for UEs in the
serving cell, and the downlink user-perceived throughput in the serving cell increases. If
the increase of resources for DPS UEs in the lightly loaded coordinating cells cannot
compensate for the loss caused by channel quality deterioration, the downlink user-
perceived throughput of the DPS UEs decreases.
l HomNet networking: When the PRB usage of the heavily loaded cell is 60%, DL CoMP
increases the CEU throughput by 5% to 10% and the average UE throughput by up to
5%.
l HetNet networking: When a macro cell includes four micro cells and the PRB usage of
the macro cell is 60%, DL CoMP increases the CEU throughput by about 20% and the
average UE throughput by about 10%.

Boards
l BBU: The BBU3900, BBU3910, and BBU3910A support this feature. When the
BBU3910A is used, only intra-BBU DL CoMP is supported, and inter-BBU DL CoMP
is not supported.
l BBP: The LBBPc does not support this function.
l USU: A USU3910 is required when inter-BBU DL CoMP is required.

RF Modules
Micro cells in DL CoMP are those served by low-power RRUs, such as RRU3220E and
RRU3230E.

Cells
l JT: Both of the following requirements must be met:
– The Cell.CrsPortNum settings of the cells where this feature is enabled are the
same.
– Both the serving cell and coordinating cell must support 2T or 4T.
l DPS: Both the serving cell and coordinating cell must support 2T or 4T.

4.3.4 Networking
l If inter-BBU DL CoMP is used, Cloud BB achieved by USU-based multi-BBU
interconnection must be deployed.
– For details about Cloud BB networking, see Cloud BB Overview.
– For details about the networking, cable connections, and clock synchronization for
the USU3910-based Cloud BB architecture, see USU3910-based Multi-BBU
Interconnection.
l eNodeBs provide contiguous coverage with the same frequency and bandwidth. The cell
bandwidth must be greater than or equal to 5 MHz.
l If inter-BBU DL CoMP is used, time synchronization is required across the entire
network. The time synchronization accuracy between all cells with DL CoMP to be
enabled must be less than 3 μs, and GPS or IEEE1588 V2 synchronization can be used.
For details, see Synchronization.

4.3.5 Others

Among the following listed counters, counters related to CEUs are available only when the
BasedA3EdgeUserSwitch option of the CellCounterParaGroup.CellCounterAlgoSwitch
parameter is selected. CEUs can be identified based on the
CellCounterParaGroup.EdgeUserA3Offset parameter. CEUs with weak coverage can be
identified based on the CellCounterParaGroup.EdgeUserServRSRPThd parameter.
Before activating DL CoMP, run the following command:
MOD CELLCOUNTERPARAGROUP:LocalCellId=0,
CellCounterAlgoSwitch=BasedA3EdgeUserSwitch-1, EdgeUserA3Offset=-12;

HomNet DPS CellDlCompAl
l If the ratio is higher than 30%, you are advised to
Coordinating go.HomnetDps
increase the coordinating cell RSRP threshold (for
Cell RSRP CoCellRsrpThd
example, from -6 dB to -3 dB) to maintain the
Threshold
ratio within 15% to 30%.
JT Coordinating CellDlCompAl l If the ratio is lower than 15%, you are advised to
Cell RSRP go.JtCoCellRsr decrease the coordinating cell RSRP threshold
Threshold pThd (for example, from -3 dB to -6 dB) to maintain the
ratio within 15% to 30%.
For DPS UEs in HetNet scenarios, the coordinating
cell RSRP threshold cannot be smaller than -6 dB.
For DPS and JT UEs in HomNet scenarios, the
coordinating cell RSRP threshold cannot be smaller
than -3 dB. Otherwise, the correctness of data
transmission is affected.

DPS CellDlCompAl Set this parameter to its recommended value.

Coordinating go.DpsCoCellU A larger value of this parameter leads to more UEs in
Cell User Ratio serRatioThd coordinating cells and smaller offload gains to the
Threshold serving cell. A smaller value of this parameter leads
to fewer UEs in coordinating cells and larger offload
gains to the serving cell.

DPS Serving CellDlCompAl Set this parameter to its recommended value.

cell, increasing the probability of negative DPS gains.
A larger value of this parameter leads to a higher
threshold for a cell to be selected as a DPS serving
cell. In this case, DPS gains cannot be maximized.
If negative gains occur after DL CoMP is enabled and
DPS takes effect on the live network, increase the
values of these parameters.

DPS Load CellDlCompAl Set this parameter to its recommended value.

Difference go.DpsLoadDif A larger value of this parameter indicates that more
Threshold fThd UEs can be transferred to a coordinating cell in an
update interval, significantly improving the system
throughput. However, it is possible that the eNodeB
cannot select a proper neighboring cell if the value is
too large. A smaller value of this parameter indicates
that fewer UEs can be transferred to a coordinating
cell in an update interval. In this case, the system
throughput does not improve significantly.
If negative gains occur after DL CoMP is enabled and
DPS takes effect on the live network, increase the
values of these parameters.

JT Coordinating CellDlCompAl A smaller value of this parameter indicates a lower

Cell DL PRB go.JtCoCellDlP threshold for a cell to be selected as a coordinating
Threshold rbThd cell for JT. In this case, JT gains cannot be
maximized. A larger value of this parameter indicates
a higher threshold for a cell to be selected as a
coordinating cell for JT, increasing the probability of
negative JT gains.
Set this parameter to its recommended value.

JT Serving Cell CellDlCompAl A smaller value of this parameter indicates a lower

DL PRB go.JtServingCe threshold for a cell to be selected as a JT serving cell,
Threshold llDlPrbThd reducing the number of cells that perform JT. In this
case, JT gains decrease. A larger value of this
parameter indicates a higher threshold for selecting a
JT serving cell, increasing interference caused by JT
and interference to neighboring cells. In this case, the
system throughput is affected.
Set this parameter to its recommended value.

MBSFN CellDlschAlgo. In scenarios where the TM10-capable UE penetration

Subframe MbsfnSfCfg rate approaches 100% or in demonstration scenarios,
Configuration it is recommended that this parameter be set to the
maximum number of MBSFN subframes (including
subframes 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, and 8) for cells with DL
CoMP enabled to offset TM10 demodulation
reference signal (DMRS) overheads and reduce cell-
specific reference signal (CRS) interference.
DL CoMP requires that the MBSFN subframe
configurations for all cells be consistent.

Step 2 Run the DSP CELLDLCOMPCOCELLS command to check whether DL CoMP has taken
effect.
l If yes, check whether there is a coordinating cell list.
– If yes, go to Step 3.
– If no, check whether intra-frequency neighbor relationships have been established
between the local cell and neighboring cells. Check whether there are CEUs in the
cell by observing the L.Traffic.User.BorderUE.Avg counter. Check whether the
DL CoMP switch has been turned on for more than one hour.
l If no, check whether the local cell meets the DL CoMP threshold criteria, including user
proportion thresholds for CSI-RS configuration and unconfiguration and the PRB usage
threshold.
Step 3 Check the following performance counters to see whether the DPS or JT UE proportion is too
low, for example, lower than 15%.

l If no, go to Step 4.
l If yes, the number of DPS and JT UEs is too small. In this case, DL CoMP cannot offer
noticeable gains to increase the capacity in terms of UE quantity and data rate.
Step 4 If the preceding steps fail to resolve the problem, contact Huawei technical support.

LOFD-1 ng PreAllocationSwitch option is selected. If both the
31213 Based PreAllocationSwitch option and this option are
on Max selected and the SmartPreAllocationDuration
Bit Rate parameter in the CellPreallocGroup MO is set to a
value greater than 0, uplink smart preallocation is
enabled. Otherwise, uplink smart preallocation is
disabled. This option applies only to LTE FDD and
LTE TDD.
PuschDtxSwitch: Indicates whether the eNodeB uses
the PUSCH discontinuous transmission (DTX)
detection result during uplink scheduling. If this
option is selected for an LTE FDD cell, the eNodeB
determines whether to perform adaptive
retransmission, and also adjusts the CCE aggregation
level of the PDCCH carrying downlink control
information (DCI) format 0 based on the PUSCH
DTX detection result during uplink scheduling. If an
LTE FDD cell is established on an LBBPc, this option
takes effect only if the cell uses less than four RX
antennas and normal cyclic prefix (CP) in the uplink
and the SrsCfgInd parameter in the SRSCfg MO is set
to BOOLEAN_TRUE(True). Note that the LBBPc
does not support PUSCH DTX detection for VMIMO
UEs. For an LTE TDD cell, this option takes effect
only when the uplink-downlink subframe
configuration is set to SA2 or SA5. If this option takes
effect, the eNodeB adjusts the CCE aggregation level

option deselected, the algorithm does not take effect.
UlEnhancedFssSwitch: Indicates whether to enable
uplink load-based enhanced frequency selective
scheduling. This option applies only to LTE FDD.
UlIicsAlgoSwitch: Indicates whether to enable the
uplink interference-intensity-based coordinated
scheduling (UL IICS) algorithm. If this option is
selected, interference can be reduced based on
accurate detection of user attributes and scheduling
resource coordination, increasing the cell edge
throughput. This option applies only to LTE TDD.
UlEnhancedSrSchSwitch: Indicates whether uplink re-
scheduling is performed only when the On Duration
timer for the DRX long cycle starts. Uplink re-
scheduling is required if the number of HARQ
retransmissions for a scheduling request (SR) reaches
the maximum value but the scheduling still fails. If
this option is selected, uplink re-scheduling is
performed only when the On Duration timer for the
DRX long cycle starts. If this option is deselected,
uplink re-scheduling is performed immediately when
the number of HARQ retransmissions for SR reaches
the maximum value but the scheduling still fails. It is
recommended that this option be selected for live
networks. This option applies only to LTE FDD and
LTE TDD.
SchedulerCtrlPowerSwitch: Indicates whether the
uplink scheduler performs scheduling without
considering power control restrictions. If this option is
selected, the uplink scheduler performs scheduling
without considering power control restrictions,
ensuring full utilization of the transmit power for all
UEs. If this option is deselected, the uplink scheduler
considers power control restrictions while performing
scheduling. In this case, the transmit power cannot be
fully used for UEs at the cell edge or between the cell
edge and cell center. This option applies only to LTE
FDD and LTE TDD.
UlMinGbrSwitch: Indicates whether to ensure uplink
minimum guaranteed bit rate (GBR). If this option is
selected, the minimum GBR of non-GBR services is
ensured by increasing the scheduling priority of UEs
whose non-GBR service rates are lower than the
minimum GBR of GBR services. This option applies
only to LTE FDD and LTE TDD.

scheduling based on the maximum bit rate (MBR) and
guaranteed bit rate (GBR) on the GBR bearer. If this
option is selected, the eNodeB performs uplink
scheduling on GBR bearers based on the MBR and
GBR. If this option is deselected, the eNodeB
performs uplink scheduling on GBR bearers based
only on the GBR. This option applies only to LTE
FDD and LTE TDD.
MbrUlSchSwitch: Indicates whether the eNodeB
performs uplink scheduling based on the MBR. If this
option is selected, the eNodeB prioritizes UEs based
on the MBRs during uplink scheduling. This option
applies only to LTE FDD and LTE TDD.
UeAmbrUlSchSwitch: Indicates whether the eNodeB
performs uplink scheduling based on the aggregate
maximum bit rate (AMBR) of UEs. If this option is
selected, the eNodeB prioritizes UEs based on the
AMBRs of UEs during uplink scheduling. This option
applies only to LTE FDD and LTE TDD.
UlEnhancedDopplerSwitch: Indicates whether to
enable enhanced uplink scheduling based on mobility
speed estimation. If this option is selected, enhanced
uplink scheduling based on mobility speed estimation
is enabled. In enhanced uplink scheduling based on
mobility speed estimation, the eNodeB uses Doppler
measurement results to identify low-speed UEs to
further improve uplink performance of low-speed
UEs. If this option is deselected, enhanced uplink
scheduling based on mobility speed is disabled.
Enhanced uplink scheduling based on mobility speed

uplink. If this option is selected, the spectral efficiency
of small RBs in the uplink is optimized, ensuring that
the transmission block size calculated based on
optimized spectral efficiency is not less than the traffic
volume to be scheduled. If this option is deselected,
the spectral efficiency of small RBs in the uplink is
not optimized. This option applies only to LTE FDD
and LTE TDD.

PuschUsePucchRbSwitch: Indicates whether PUCCH

RBs can be occupied by the PUSCH. In scenarios
with a single user: If this option is selected, PUCCH
RBs can be occupied by the PUSCH; if this option is
deselected, PUCCH RBs cannot be occupied by the
PUSCH. In scenarios with multiple users, PUCCH
RBs cannot be occupied by the PUSCH regardless of
the setting of this option. This option applies only to
LTE FDD and LTE TDD.

PuschDtxSchOptSwitch: If this option is selected, the

eNodeB determines whether to perform adaptive
retransmission based on the PUSCH DTX detection
result during uplink scheduling. This option takes
effect only when the uplink-downlink subframe
configuration SA2 or SA5 is used. If an LTE TDD cell
is established on an LBBPc, PUSCH DTX detection is
not supported. This option applies only to LTE TDD.

reporting is triggered by invalid CQI reports in eight
consecutive CQI reporting periods. If CRC on
aperiodic CQI reports fails, aperiodic CQI reporting is
triggered after eight TTIs, regardless of the DRX
status. This option applies only to LTE FDD and LTE
TDD.
VoipTbsBasedMcsSelSwitch: Indicates whether the
modulation and coding scheme (MCS) index is
selected based on the transport block size (TBS) in
downlink scheduling for VoLTE services. The MCS
index is selected based on the TBS in downlink
dynamic scheduling for VoLTE services only if this
option is selected. This option applies only to LTE
FDD and LTE TDD.
PagingInterfRandSwitch: Indicates whether to enable
interference randomization for paging messages. If
this option is selected, interference randomization is
enabled for paging messages. This option applies only
to LTE FDD and LTE TDD.
DlSingleUsrMcsOptSwitch: Indicates conditions for
lowering the MCS index for a single UE. If this option
is selected, the MCS index can be lowered for a UE if
the UE is the only UE to be scheduled in a
transmission time interval (TTI). If this option is
deselected, the MCS index can be lowered for a UE if
the threshold for the function of lowering the MCS
index to increase the number of RBs is reached and
the UE is the only UE to be scheduled in a TTI. This
option applies only to LTE FDD and LTE TDD.
UeSigMcsEnhanceSwitch: Indicates whether to
enable MCS optimization for UE signaling. If this
option is selected, MCS optimization for UE signaling
is enabled. For LTE FDD, the MCS index for UE
signaling is the same as the MCS index for data. For
LTE TDD, the MCS index for UE signaling is lowered
based on the MCS index for data. If this option is
deselected, a fixed low MCS index is used for UE
signaling. This option applies only to LTE FDD and
LTE TDD.
SubframeSchDiffSwitch: For TDD cells, this option
indicates whether to perform scheduling in subframes

configuration 2 is used. If this option is selected,

scheduling in subframes 3 and 8 is performed based
on the policy of increasing the number of UEs
scheduled in the uplink when uplink-downlink
configuration 2 is used. If this option is deselected, the
scheduling policy used in subframes 3 and 8 is the
same as that used in other downlink subframes when
uplink-downlink configuration 2 is used. For NB-IoT
cells, this option indicates whether to enable
scheduling priority optimization. If this option is
deselected, the scheduling priority of downlink
services is higher than that of uplink services for UEs
for which control plane CIoT EPS optimization is
used. If this option is selected, the scheduling priority
of downlink services is the same as that of uplink
services for UEs for which control plane CIoT EPS
optimization is used. This option applies only to LTE
TDD and NB-IoT.
TailPackagePriSchSwitch: Indicates whether to enable
scheduling of downlink connected tail packages in the
bearer. If this option is selected, the connected tail
package is scheduled preferentially in the next TTI,
which reduces the delay and increases the
transmission rate. If this option is deselected, the
scheduling policy of the connected tail package is the
same as other downlink subframes. This option
applies only to LTE TDD.
SIB1InterfRandSwitch: Indicates whether to enable
SIB1 interference randomization. If this option is
selected, interference randomization is enabled for
SIB1. This option applies only to LTE TDD.
FreqSelJudgeIgnorDopplerSwitch: Indicates whether
to ignore Doppler conditions. If this option is selected,
Doppler conditions are ignored during frequency
selective channel determination. If this option is
deselected, Doppler conditions are considered during
frequency selective channel determination. This
parameter applies only to LTE FDD and LTE TDD.
EnhExtQCISpsSchSwitch: Indicates whether to
enable semi-persistent scheduling during talk spurts of
PTT services with standardized QCI 65, standardized
QCI 66, or an enhanced extended QCI. If this option
is selected, semi-persistent scheduling is applied. If
this option is deselected, dynamic scheduling is
applied. This option applies only to LTE FDD and
LTE TDD.

DlVoipBundlingSwitch: Indicates whether to enable

active packet bundling for downlink VoLTE services.
Active packet bundling is enabled for downlink
VoLTE services only if this option is selected. If this
option is selected, PDCCH resources can be saved for
downlink data services or uplink services, thereby
increasing the VoLTE capacity for VoLTE services or
increasing the throughput of data services in mixed
service scenarios. However, the delay in VoLTE voice
packet scheduling will increase in the downlink and
MOSs may decrease. You are advised to deselect this
option if you prefer VoLTE performance and do not
expect MOS reduction. This option applies only to
LTE FDD and LTE TDD.
DlPacketLenAwareSchSw: Indicates whether to
enable packet length awareness performance
optimization in the downlink. Packet length awareness
performance optimization is enabled in the downlink
only if this option is selected. This option applies only
to LTE FDD and LTE TDD.
RLCArqFeedbackEnhancedSwitch: Indicates whether
to modify HARQ feedback results based on RLC
status reports when uplink-downlink configuration 2
is used. If this option is selected, the eNodeB modifies
HARQ feedback results based on RLC status reports
after receiving the reports. This prevents unnecessary
HARQ retransmissions. This option applies only to
LTE TDD.
PaReconfigOptSwitch: Indicates whether to enable PA
reconfiguration optimization. The optimization is
enabled when this option is selected. This option
applies only to LTE FDD and LTE TDD.
RankRapidRptSwitch: Indicates whether to enable fast
rank reporting. If this option is selected, an aperiodic
CQI reporting is immediately triggered after
successful network access. If this option is deselected,

paired beamforming UEs for UE pairing features such
as MU beamforming and D-MIMO. This option
applies only to LTE TDD.

HarqAllocOptSwitch: Indicates whether to optimize

the allocation of HARQ processes. If this option is
selected, the downlink UE rate increases. This option
takes effect only when D-MIMO or massive MIMO is
enabled. This option applies only to LTE TDD.

Pusch32Switch: Indicates whether to enable the

PUSCH 3-2 feedback mode. If this option is selected,
UEs that support the PUSCH 3-2 feedback mode use
this mode to aperiodically report CQIs. If this option
is deselected, the mode cannot be used. This option
applies only to LTE FDD.

DlPreciseAmbrCtrlSwitch: Indicates whether to

enable precise downlink AMBR control. If this option
is selected, a more accurate optimization algorithm
applies to the AMBR control, which achieves more
accurate AMBR control. If this option is deselected,
the original AMBR control algorithm is used. This
option applies only to LTE FDD and LTE TDD.
