Topic: National Competency- Based Teacher Standards (NCBTS)

The National Competency- Based Teacher Standards (NCBTS) defines


effective teaching as being able to help all types of students learn the different learning
goals in the curriculum. This is a set of competencies (behaviors, attitudes and skills) that
each teacher must possess to function effectively and satisfactorily. It is divided into seven
(7) domains, twenty-one (21) strands and eighty (80) performance indicators that are
observable indicators of the quality of a teacher’s performance.
The NCBTS framework and the Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers
reinforce/complement each other.

Tasks:
