ACTIVITES
1.Write a description for these weather situations. Use pictures to illustrate the concept.

A. Hail
Hail is a type of solid precipitation that is shaped like a ball. These
pieces of ice originate when very cold water droplets freeze at the
top of the clouds and fall when, being so large, they cannot be
sustained by air currents.
B. Tornado
A tornado is a column of air with high angular velocity whose lower
end is in contact with the Earth's surface and the upper end with a
cumulonimbus cloud or, exceptionally, like Newton's tornado, at the
base of a cumulus cloud.
C. Heavy clouds

Cumulonimbus clouds are heavy and thick water, with considerable

expansion and characteristic vertical development; They have massive-
looking structures, the cusp of which is usually mushroom-shaped.

D. Storm
The storm is characterized by the coexistence of two or more air
masses of different temperatures, which causes instability in the
environment that can include thunder, lightning, rain, hail and other
meteorological phenomena.

E. Heavy rain
The causes
will vary from heavy rainfall to the accumulation
of ice in the riverbed and its subsequent melting.

F. Drizzle
Rain of very fine drops that fall gently.

G. Gale
In general, the name of gale is given to any strong wind that
blows from the sea, such as the southwest that is experienced on
the coasts of Spain, quite strong in winter.
