SW04, SW05, SW06, SW08 and SW10 systems are suitable for any type of appliance (excluded ESW04,
ESW05, ESW06, ESW08, ESW10 system which is not suitable for condensing appliances and similar
appliances) and for any fuel (gas, oil, wood or solid fuel), with negative pressure (class N1=40 Pa) for
temperatures up to 600°C (it has to be used as a liner or connecting flue pipe) or with positive pressure (class
P1=200 Pa) for temperatures up to 200°C (in this application the use of red silicon seals is necessary) and
200°C (in this application the use of black silicon seals in necessary).
The next table summarises all just described conditions.

ATTENTION!
We do not recommend the use of stainless steel chimneys systems where there is a presence of any halogens
in the atmosphere.
In installations where this may occur, such as the use of chimney in laundries, dry cleaners’, printing premises,
hairdressers and cosmetic salons any product guarantee’s will be invalid.
4. INSTALLATION
FEMALE FORM
SW04, SW05, SW06, SW08, SW10, ESW04, ESW05,
ESW06, ESW08 and ESW10 systems are manufactured
with male and female forms with ripped self centring seals
as shown in picture 1. The positioning of the silicon seal
FUMES
in the appropriate recess, located inside the female form,
DIRECTION
guarantees the pressure tightness. After the beginning of
any component installation, make sure that the product
designation, reported on the component and on the
packing, is suitable for the installation. At this point proceed
in the following way: LOCKING BAND
- Ensure that the joints are in good condition and clean:
components with damaged joints should not be used.
- Install the system with the arrow following the direction
of the flues gases, this means with the female form on
the upside. See fig. 1. FIG. 1
12
- Ensure the silicon seal is (when required for the application) is seated correctly in its recess.
- Push the sections together. During this phase it is necessary to ensure the seal does not suffer any
damage, it is recommended to lubricate the joint to ease installation.
- After assembly of the two components fit the locking band and ensure the screw is securely tightened (8
N.m). Every locking band is marked with two numbers, which indicate the external diameter, the band is
assembled correctly when the greater value between the two is installed at the bottom. (See fig. 2).
- Respect the assembly plans and the rules of positioning of the static elements reported on following
pages.
- All Expo systems need to have protective shields (for example a simple press folded sheet metal
encasement) to prevent accidental contact if there is a risk of human contact. The protective shield has
to be positioned at a minimum distance of 50 mm from the chimney’s outer skin.
- If the chimney installation is case to combustible materials, respect the minimum distances specified in
the product designation*.

5. ASSEMBLY SCHEMES
5.1.Assembly scheme for single chimneys (picture 3)
When the checks described in paragraph 4 are executed, proceed to the chimney assembly like the following
phases:
- To put on the chimney flue’s base a start plate with lateral draining or a condense draining element with
an eventual siphon in the case of positive pressure working, to guarantee the chimney verticality.
- To continue then with an inspection element, which can be:
• Provided of round stopper with holding gasket, for liners/chimneys working also in positive pressure till
200 Pa, wet and/or temperatures till 200 °C
• Provided of rectangular stopper, covered inside with a ceramics fibre felt, for ducts working in negative
pressure in dry conditions with temperatures till 600 °C
- To continue putting on the linear elements needed to reach the clutch level of the smoke canal to chimney.
- To insert now the connection T90° which allows to connect the smoke canal to the chimney. According
EN12391 the connecting flue pipe has to be installed with an angle of minimum 3°.
- So, to put on the linear elements till to reach the wanted exit level. In the case where a lateral moving is
necessary, it must be done respecting the prescriptions reported into conformity declarations (from tab.
1 to tab. 4 in function of the used system) to “not vertical installation”.
- When the outlet level in reached, holding in consideration the minimum heights forced by in force norms
the maximum jerk height reported into conformity declarations (from tab. 1 to tab. 4 in function of the used
system) to “wind resistance” to install the exit terminal, fixing it to the chimney flue with a locking band.
- When the assembly operations are finished, the identification plate* provided by the manufacturer must
be fixed near the chimney; the formalities completing are reported in appendix A.
* In case that the identification plaque was not delivered or lost we would like to ask you to ask for the plaque urgent by
contacting our technical office.

When the checks described in paragraph 4 are executed, proceed to the chimney assembly like the following
phases:
- To put on the chimney flue’s base a start plate with lateral draining or a condense draining element, to
guarantee the chimney verticality.
- To continue then with an inspection element, which can be:

- To continue putting on the linear elements needed to reach the clutch level of the smoke canal to chimney.
- To insert now the connection T90° which allows to connect the smoke canal to the chimney: in function
of the typology of the system foreseen by the designer, a T90 coaxial (pic. 6 B) or 45° sloping (pic. 6 A)
connection should be installed.
- So, to put on the linear elements till to reach the wanted exit level.
- When the outlet level in reached, holding in consideration the minimum heights forced by in force norms

- So, to put on the linear elements till to reach the wanted exit level. In the case where a lateral moving is
necessary (only 2 lateral movings of 30° are allowed), it must be done respecting the prescriptions reported
into conformity declarations (from tab. 1 to tab. 4 in function of the used system) to “not vertical

6. MAINTENANCE
The maintenance of the metallic chimney is very important to keep the planning conditions and the working
characteristics unchanged in a long time.
It will be necessary execute a planned maintenance, carried out by qualified technicians, in according to a
periodicity determined with users and the responsible person of the chimney according to the specifics of
the norms in forced.
In according to the norm dispositions, we advise to intervene with the following minimum frequency:
- gaseous combustibles once a year
- liquid combustibles every 6 months
- solid combustibles every 3 months
The cleaning of the flue should be done with adequate equipment, according to the law and regulations
dispositions on the subject of security and health of workers into the work places.
According to the ordinary maintenance, to clean the internal walls of the chimney/chimney flue with a sponge
or a plastic brush which are applied to a reel is enough, if it is necessary; iron instruments must be absolutely
avoided.
For this operation, at the base of the chimney flue, a incombustible collect tube must be installed, which
has for entrance a closing metal door.
Opening the inspection door, to enter in the inside of the chimney/chimney flue is possible to do eventual
interventions.
To enter in the inside is possible even removing the chimney top or directly through the eventual terminal
situated on the top.
The rain water and/or condenses must be always correctly disposed by means of the connection of “condense
draining” or base plate for a draining. During the maintenance, we recommend to check the free ebb of
condenses. A good and complete maintenance consists of even a check of the correct joint among the
elements, the caulking’s integrity and the internal wall of the chimney.
7. GUARANTEE
It is excluded any manufacturer’s responsibility or liability, in case of evidence that an un-correct maintenance
has been carried out by qualified technicians.
Expo approves, as qualified technicians, only the technicians associated to national chimney sweeper
organisation, having the participation certificated to specialisation courses.
