Injuries at early age are
some of the commong
causes of childhood
disability and death in the
United States.
A high mortality rate due to
suicide, poisoning and falls
has been observed since
the past decade.
Motor Vehicle injuries
(MVAs) and suicide are
two major causes of injury
mortality. Other common
injuries include head
injuries, drowning, burns
and firearm injuries.
In the pedistrian injuries to
children, a number of
motor vehicle-related
injuries and deaths have
bbeen recorded. Burn and
drowning are two leading
causes of increase in
childhood mortatlity rate.
The rate of injuries is
higher in the children
younger than 9. The
probability of most fatal
injuries is high in later
childhood and
adolescence.

behind injuries. They try to feel
their environment by touch and
taste. Fall injuries are common
among them. Different underlying

the part of routine patient
care in most of the
healthcare setups.
