BAB I
PENDAHULUAN
1.3. Tujuan
Tujuan dari perancangan ini adalah :
1. Mengetahui cara membuat mesin pengaduk permen susu yang efisien
terhadap tenaga dan waktu.
2. Mengetahui efisiensi pengadukan dengan MENGAMEN dibandingkan
dengan pengadukan secara tradisional.
3. Mengetahui MENGAMEN merupakan solusi untuk meningkatkan
pengadukan susu dalam pembuatan perme susu secara optimal dan efisien.

TINJAUAN PUSTAKA
2.5. SystemPaddle(Dayung)
Pengaduk jenis ini sering memegang peranan penting pada proses
pencampuran dalam industri. Bentuk pengaduk ini memiliki minimum 2 sudu,
horizontal atau vertikal, dengan nilai D/T yang tinggi. System paddle
digunakan pada aliran fluida laminar, tranisisi atau turbulen tanpa baffle.
Pengaduk paddle menimbulkan aliran arah raial dan tangensial dan hampir
tanpa gerak vertikal sama sekali. Arus yang bergerak ke arah horizontal
setelah mencapai dinding akan dibelokan ke atas atau ke bawah. Bila
digunakan pada kecepatan tinggi akan terjadi pusaran saja tanpa terjadi
agitasi. Berbagai jenis pengaduk dayung biasayanya digunakan pada
kecepatan rendah diantaranya 20 hingga 200 rpm. Dayung datar berdaun dua
atau empat biasa digunakan dalam sebuah proses pengadukan. Panjang total
dari pengadukan dayung biasanya 60-80% dari diameter tangki dan lebar dari
daunnya 1/6-1/10 dari panjangnya.

2.7. Efisiensi
Gie (1997) menjelaskan bahwa efisiensi adalah satu pengertian
tentang perhubungan optimal antara pendapatan dan pengeluaran, bekerja
keras dan hasil-hasilnya, modal dan keuntungan, biaya dan kenikmatan, yang
ada kalanya juga disamakan dengan ketepatan atau dapat juga dirumuskan
sebagai perbandingan terbaik antara pengeluaran dan penghasilan, antara
suatu usaha kerja dengan hasilnya.
Efisiensi optimal adalah perbandingan terbaik antara pengorbanan
yang dilakukan untuk mendapatkan suatu hasil yang diharapkan.
• Ditinjau dari segi hasil. Misalnya seorang manajer dapat mencapai
suatu output (produktivitas, performance) yang lebih tinggi
dibandingkan dengan masukan-masukan (tenaga kerja, uang, waktu,
dan bahan) yang dipakai.
• Ditinjau dari segi penghematan. Misalnya dengan penggunaan
peralatan yang modern maka proses kerja akan lebih cepat serta
menghemat waktu dan biaya.

b. Pembuatan Alat
Pembuatan alat melalui beberapa tahapan diantaranya perhitungan
kapasitas alat MENGAMEN, pemotongan material atau bahan baku,
pengelasan, penggerindaan, pengamplasan, perangkaian atau perakitan,
dan pengecetan.
