Course Policies for Late Submission and Attendance

a. Attendance Policy
Traditional/ face-to-face or in-person learning
1. There are no excused absences. According to the rules of the Commission on Higher Education, every
student is required to attend no less than 80% of all class periods in each subject to earn the
corresponding units. Twenty percent of the periods are deemed more than sufficient to take care of
emergencies such as illness or death in the family, and similar circumstances.
2. Students are required to attend class punctually and regularly. A student who absents himself/herself
due to illness must submit a physician’s certification of his illness, or if absent for some reasons, he
must present an excuse letter from his parents or guardian. Any student who accumulates more than
the maximum number of absences tolerated in a given subject disqualifies himself from earning any unit
of it and causes himself to be dropped automatically from the class with a final mark of F (failure).
E-learning
1. Mixed Online Learning
2. The teacher/faculty will engage/meet their class between 50% and 75% of the scheduled class time,
spread out throughout the semester. Teacher/faculty is encouraged to have a full MOL class at least
once a week.
Faculty will give the students individualized feedback at least 4 times during the semester about their

Learning Content and Delivery Mode

Outcomes-based Learning- This allows the students to be owners and constructors of their own learning by
creating artifacts that solve pressing problems in their respective communities and disciplines.

The Institute of Architecture and Fine Arts will adapt the concept of Project Based Learning in this course.
Project Based Learning (PBL) – is defined as using authentic, real-world projects, based on highly motivating
and engaging questions, task, or problem, to teach student academic content in the context of working
cooperatively to solve the Problem (Barell, 2007, 2010; Baron, 2011; Grant, 2010)
Far Eastern University OCT 2020
Institute of Architecture and Fine Arts
___________________________________________________________________________
PBL is an innovative instructional format in which students select many aspects of their assignment and
are motivated by the real-world problems that can, and in many cases will, contribute to their community. (Bendr
2012)

different voice overs and/or recorded demonstration of works.
3. All learning materials provided by the Institute of Architecture and Fine Arts are exclusive to Far
Eastern University. These materials are provided to students through the FEU Learning Management
System (CANVAS), and are only used for educational purposes, not for commercial reasons.
Uploading of these files to other platform such as YouTube, SlideShare and the likes without
permission from the University thorough the Institute are strictly prohibited.
