Microsoft Windows in an operating system introduced by Microsoft Corporation in 1983.

It is a
multitasking graphical user interface environment that runs on MS DOS based computer. MS DOS
stands for Microsoft Disk Operating System.It holds the operation such as input and output,monitor
support keyboard and control and internal function. It brings life to computer hardware. It is responsible
for managing the storage areas of computer.

Microsoft Windows is a computer software program that helps organize work by allowing the user to
run several defferent programs simultaneously. Each program runs in its own separate part of the
screen,or windows.

MS Windows also gives that users added flexibility of using a mouse to navigate his way through a
program’s menus and commands. It includes several accesory features that help user be more productive
with is work such as word processor,graphis program, and communication utility.

Program Manager Window is the principal window in MS Windows environment that manages all the
programs and files and from there that you start programs, quit windows, organize applications for easy
access. It also includes the desktop, wall paper and the screen saver.

Program Icon- a small graphical representation of a program that you see inside the program window
that represent program applications you can see.

Application Window- contains the running application. It has a title bar and menu bar. This is the basic
work area in which you can work with files and applications.

Document or group window- appears inside the application window, contains documents, files, and
directories.
