1. Production Description
The Mars1717V (configuration: Mars1717V3) is a wireless X-ray flat panel detector

based on amorphous silicon thin film transistor technology. It provides high quality
radiographic images, including 3072 × 3072 active pixel matrices with a pixel size of
139um. The type of scintillator for the detector is: CSI (Caesium Iodide). The Mars1717V
(configuration: Mars1717V3) is the biggest improvement that supports wireless
communication between the detector and the workstation, as well as battery-powered,
making it truly portable.
2. Installation Requirement
2.1 Environment
This product needs to be used within the specified temperature and humidity range:

4. Installation
4.1 Panel Installation

4.1.1 Attach Battery Pack
Mars1717V can be powered by both battery package and DC power. Once battery package
is inserted or DC power is on, Panel would be activated immediately. If none of battery
and DC power is on, Mars1717V would power off. Please see below for battery
installation.
 Make sure that the connectors on the
battery package are pointed to the cave in
battery compartment.

4.2 Battery Charger Installation

4.2.1 Battery activation

The battery is set to transport mode when it leaves the factory.
Customers need to pass:
a) Insert the detector in the off state (in this case, external power supply is required) and
press the power button three times (interval <1s).
b) Install the battery charger to activate the battery before use.

4.3 System requirement

iDetector is developed and deployed on Windows Operation System, it can be run on
Windows XP/Windows 7/Windows 8/Windows 10, OS should install latest service pack.
And requires computer memory 4 GB minimum. Firewall should be shut down to avoid
commuication issue.
4.3.1 Environment setup
Setup files and download url are included in Software Development Kit(hereafter refers as
SDK) directory: Tools\env_setup.
1. Please install Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5(Windows XP only can install V4.0 ).
Download from Microsoft web site, please.
2. Visual C++ redistributed package need to be installed: vcredist_x86_2013(or
vcredist_x64_vs2013).
3. For Windows XP, full path should be used in file “bind.txt”.
4.4 Connection Mode

Mars1717V supports two connection modes as follows, the IP address and other
information mentioned below is as the example, user should configure the connection with
the specific requirement.
1) Wireless Client Mode

To establish a connection between the workstation and the tablet, the user should follow

Detector configuration
In wireless client mode, wired is available for configuration. Wired connections are only
used during device maintenance.
A. Start configuring the cable. To complete 4.4.1, then continue with the steps below.
 Use an Ethernet cable to
connect tablets and

4.4.2 Wireless AP Mode Connection
To complete wireless connection configuration, user has to finish actions listed below.

4.5. Trigger mode switching

The Mars1717V is mainly used to acquire X-ray images. The acquisition of the detector
should be synchronized with the X-ray generator. The Mars1717V itself has four ways to

get X-ray images: software mode, inner mode, inner2 mode and FreeSync mode.
The customer can switch the trigger mode according to the requirements. When switching
the mode, the corresponding parameters must be modified to ensure that the tablet can
work normally. The parameters that need to be modified corresponding to different trigger
modes are as follows:

For example:
If the customer needs to switch the trigger mode to FreeSync, please follow the steps
below (see the figure below):
1. Connect the flat panel detector according to the flat panel connection mode described in
section 4.4, and go to the Acquire interface to remove all calibration modes.
2. Enter the Detector interface of the IDetector software and select the Parameters
interface under the Detector interface to modify the related parameters.
3. Modify the relevant parameters according to the above table;
4. Click the "write" button on the right to save the modified parameters.
5. Correction and Calibration Template Generation
The correction and calibration should be performed after installation and it is

recommended to perform the new correction and calibration after any major change on the
system settings and hardware configuration. On the other hand, it is also recommended to
do the correction and calibration in each 6 months.
5.1 HW pre-offset Template Generation
The detector is configured for pre-correction mode and the pre-correction template must
be generated.

5.2 Gain Calibration Template Generation

When generating the template, ensure that the SID is greater than 1.2m and the X-Ray can
illuminate the entire AA area of the detector.

5.3 Defect Correction Template Generation

The template generation of the defect ensures sid1.2m, no copying is required, and the
interface of the software may be different from the following numbers. The following

procedure is exemplified by the Prep mode (other modes are similar).

Please adjust the mAs appropriately by using the recommended KV value.
 Enter Acquire UI. Choose
HWPostOffset.
 Enter Calibrate UI. Select
Create Defect tab.
 Click the Start button to

prepare for the bright field
map. Before shooting, you
need to adjust the beam
illuminator to ensure that
the X-Ray can reach the
entire effective imaging
area of the detector.
 Obtain the image
according to the
recommended KV value
and Value value. If the
image value meets the
requirements, accept the
current image; if not, re-
acquire the image.

5.4 Image saving

5.5 Local Image Check

“OPEN” provides two features for image check and uploading. Local Image Check, Panel
Image Upload. Local Image Check defines function to check image saved in Workstation.
Panel Image Upload defines function to upload images stored in panel.
5.5.1 Local Image Check
 Click “Local File” button in
“Local File” UI, choose the
specified file
 In this page user can open the
image files saved in local, the file
formate can be raw, tiff, dft.
When the software is
disconnected to detector, the file
still can be opened.
 Click “Load File”, there will be

an open file wizard. Select file
and click open or double click the
file. The tiff file will be opened
directly. For the raw file or dft file
there will be a dialog to select
image size. Select correct size to
open image files. If the file is not
correct user will get an error
message.

5.5.2 Detector internal image upload

 Make sure the firewall is off
The tablet image uploading steps are as follows:

 Click on the "Images" tab in the
"Detector" page and click on the
"Query Images" button. The
images stored inside the detector
are listed in the list below.

 Click “Upload Images”; select the

starting image serial number and
ending image serial number, click
“OK”, and the status display is
“success”, indicating that the
upload is successful;
 During the upload process, you
can click "Stop Upload" to stop
uploading.
 The uploaded image is saved in

the upload folder under the
corresponding probe working
directory.
5.6 Defect correction template check and modification

IDetector allows the user to view the defect correction template. In addition, if the
detector's defect correction template is updated, the user can add and delete defect points
or defect lines through IDetector.
5.6.1 Defect correction template check
 Click the "Load File" button
under the "Local File" page.

the corresponding point, view the
coordinate position of the dead
point, fill the coordinate position
into the defect setting dialog box,
click “Delect” to delete the dead
point.
 If you need to add a bad point,
you will need to add the
coordinates to fill in the settings
dialog box, click "Add" to add
dead pixels
 Click "Save"
 Edit bad line information is

similar to editing bad point
information. Fill in the bad line
position coordinates in the setting
dialog box, click “Add” or
“Delete” to add or delete bad line
information.
 Click "Save"
6. HW calibration template configuration
6.1 Synchronize the calibration template

The calibration and calibration templates are allowed inside the detector, so the
workstation's template can be downloaded to the detector and the template inside the
detector can be uploaded to the workstation.
