LESSON PLAN

Grade:______6______ Lesson Title: __Fur Trade – Equations __ Lesson Duration (mins): __45 mins__

Overview of lesson
In this lesson students will be learning about objects that were traded in the fur trade. They will be introduced to the objects
and shown diagrams so that they know what each object is. They will then work as a class and we will solve a series of math
problems both on their whiteboards and on the board as a class. The students will be given time to answer the questions
independently on their whiteboards before they work as a class and we answer on the board. This will be continued until the
problems are all answered and if there is more time we may have discussion or play a game.

Lesson Procedures
Introduction (_15_min.):
 To begin this lesson, I will quickly go over what the fur trade items are so that they can know what the objects are in
the questions.
