variety of bacterial infections. It is an antibiotic that works by
stopping the growth of bacteria. This antibiotic treats only bacterial
infections
ACTIONS:  Clindamycin, a lincosamide antibiotic, inhibits bacterial protein
synthesis by reversibly binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit,
thereby preventing the peptide bond formation, ribosome
assembly and translation process
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Clindamycin is contraindicated in patients who have had an
allergic reaction to it, and it should be used with caution in those
who have a history of regional enteritis, ulcerative colitis, or
antibiotic-associated colitis.
ADVERSE REACTIONS: Hypersensitivity reactions may occur. If not swallowed with

caused by having too little iron in the body).
ACTIONS: Ferrous sulfate facilitates oxygen transport via Hb. It is used as
iron source as it replaces iron found in Hb, myoglobin and other
enzymes

overload of iron in the blood. -a type of blood disorder where the
red blood cells burst called hemolytic anemia. -an ulcer from too
much stomach acid. -a type of stomach irritation called gastritis.
ulcerative colitis.
ADVERSE REACTIONS: Some people do experience stomach discomfort that ranges from
heartburn to nausea and vomiting, but taking ferrous sulfate with
food instead may help avoid or lessen it. Constipation or stools
that are black or green also occur
NURSING  Continue iron therapy for 2–3 months after the
RESPONSIBILITIES: hemoglobin level has returned to normal (roughly twice
the period required to normalize hemoglobin
concentration).
 Monitor bowel movements as constipation is a common
adverse effect.
