ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

Amidst the pandemic we are facing at the moment, all sectors of the society face undeniable
challenges, especially on the field of educating the young minds. The new learning modalities like
Modular Learning ultimately needs for the strengthening the use of Open Educational Resources
particularly on the development of interactive e-books which shall serve as supplementary
materials for the Self Learning Modules (SLM) and Learning Activity Sheets (LAS).
This meaningful activity was conducted face to face by the limited number of participants
was approved by the Secondary School Principal with the adherence to the minimum health
protocols, social distancing and local IATF regulations.
Objectives: The activity was conducted to be able to:
 Orient the participants on the different Online and Offline OER platforms.
 Capacitate the teachers on the use of Open Educational Resources
 Create an open educational resource and e-Book.
 Submit Finalized interactive e-Book as output in the workshop.

HIGHLIGHTS:

 Orientation on OER Online and Offline Platforms.


 Orientation on Kotobee on e-book Development
 Workshop (Guided practice) Making of e-Book in each area of Specialization
 E-Book Presentation.

All the participants rated very satisfactory on the workshop training activity design, clarity and
attainment of the objectives, logical sequencing of session, clarity of the session flow and in
the adequate time allotment for each session.

2. Methodology
The appropriateness of methods used for the topics, the extent to which the methods
facilitated learning, discussion of instructions to achieve outputs and its effective use of
audience participation during the workshop was rated very satisfactory.

3. Management of the Activity


The training workshop was facilitated by the Department head, Mrs. Lolita B. Felicen and the
organizer Mrs. Jeanette G. Aliman, TLE teacher.

4. Resource Person
The Resource Speakers were the following:
 Orientation on OER Online and Offline Platforms-Jeanette G. Aliman
 Orientation on Kotobee on e-book Development – Oliver B. Bacsal

5. Audience Participation
Active participation of the participants was very evident because each participant attained the
desired output. Each specialization was presented during the presentation.

6. Logistical Arrangements
The financial requirement was arranged by the Technology and Livelihood Education
Teachers and Department Head.
NEXT STEPS:
e-books made based on the learning activity sheets for the third quarter will be utilized by
teachers and learners as a supplement materials.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR MANAGEMENT :


The participant of this training shall utilized e-book as a supplement materials.

3rd TECHNOLOGY AND LIVELIHOOD EDUCATION (TLE) DEPARTMENT IN - SERVICE


TRAINING/ROLL - OUT ON PHILIPPINE PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS FOR TEACHERS (PPST)
AND RESULT - BASED PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (RPMS) MANUAL FOR
TEACHERS
Calbiga National High School Campus, Calbiga, Samar
January 4 – 6, 2019

The roll – out started at exactly 8:30 in the morning. The first part of the program was the
registration of participants followed by the Opening Program. Mrs. Mary Rose B. Bacarra, SST II, as
the master of the ceremony initially welcomes all the participants. The Opening Program started with
a Prayer led by Mrs. Donna A. Candolita, SST I. Followed by the singing of the National Anthem by
Mrs. Maribel B. Cabrigas, SST I, conducting, then the recitation of Panunumpa sa Watawat led by
Mrs. Mary Joy D. Dela Rama, SST III. The next part was the energizing Physical Fitness led by
Mr. Wilson C. Montiagodo, SST I. Then it was followed of the Attendance Recognition which was
given by Ms. Luigeza C. Mabutol, SST II, there are 11 teachers present out of 13 teachers in the
TLE Department, one of the teachers is on maternity leave and the other one in on - leave. The
In – SET formally started with opening remarks by Mr. Antolin B. Bagasbas, SST III, as he present a
short preview about the RPMS – PPST based on their seminar at Baguio City.
The session proper started with the discussion with one of our resource speaker, from the
Senior High School of Calbiga National High School, Mr. William A. Jabien, Admin. Officer II, as he
introduced the PPST and RPMS tools to the participants. The next Resource Speaker is the Head
Teacher of the English Department, Mrs. Anitess Joana C. Dacut, SSHT III, she discussed about
Self – Assessment Tools.
On the second day, the first discussant is Mrs. Anitess Joana C. Dacut, SSHT III, her topic
was about Classroom Observation Tool, followed by Mrs. Corazon Bacsal, MT I/Acting School
Librarian, as she discussed about gathering and organizing documents
On the last day of the InSET, Mrs. Corazon G. Bacsal, MT I, discussed about Annotation
while Ms. Annunciation P. Pachoco, SSHT I of the Mathematics Department, discussed about
Portfolio Assessment. The InSET ends with a closing program, as our Head Teacher gives the
Certificates of Recognition and token to our distinguished resource speaker. The program ends with
a Closing Remarks given by our very own Head Teacher from the TLE Department Mrs. Lolita B.

SESSION 1
Discussion on the Introduction of RPMS and PPST Tools
This session was discussed by Mr. William A. Jabien, Admin. Officer II from Senior High
School of the Calbiga National High School. The focus of his discussion is on the introduction of
RPMS and PPST Tools. In his discussion, he had mentioned who will use RPMS tools, what are the
RPMS tools and its parts, and why teachers need to used RPMS tools. He also mentions the
process on how the PPST has been developed.

SESSION 2
Discussion on RPMS – Self – Assessment Tool
The resource speaker of this session is Mrs. Anitess Joana C. Dacut, SSHT III of the English
Department in Calbiga National High School. Her discussion is about the Self – Assessment Tool of
the RPMS. She introduced the SAT – RPMS to the participant. She also discussed the different
parts of the SAT – RPMS and how to accomplish it. She point out that the accomplish SAT – RPMS
should not be submitted but will be used in constructing the development plan of each teachers.

SESSION 3
Discussion on RPMS – Classroom Observation Tool
For this Session, the speaker is Mrs. Annitess Joana C. Dacut, SSHT III of the English
Department in Calbiga National High School. She discussed Classroom Observation Tool – RPMS.
She had mentioned that the new COT – RPMS is based on the Philippine Professional Standards for
Teachers. She explained how the COT addresses the continuum practice and how it is being used in
the RPMS cycle. She point out also the different indicators that should be observed during the
classroom observation and the steps in conducting the observations.

SESSION 4
Discussion on Gathering and Organizing of Documents
The resource speaker of this session is Mrs. Corazon G. Bacsal, MT I and Acting School
Librarian of the Calbiga National High School. She discussed about the different steps in gathering
and organizing the documents needed in the RPMS Portfolio.

SESSION 5
Discussion on Annotations
For this Session, the resource speaker is Mrs. Corazon G. Bacsal, MT I and Acting School
Librarian of the Calbiga National High School. She discussed about the definition and importance of
annotation in the RPMS. She had mentioned also the guide in writing annotation for a particular
MOV in the RPMS Portfolio.

SESSION 6
Discussion on Portfolio Assessment
For this Session, the resource speaker is Ms. Annunciation P. Pachoco, SSHT I of the
Mathematics Department in Calbiga National High School. She discussed the process on the
assessment of the RPMS Portfolio. She had also mentioned tools and forms needed in the
assessment of the Teacher Portfolio. She also discussed the valid and not valid MOVs.
