Demand and supply of Malasri Garments

Here at Malasri garments we could see that they were basically working on cotton
based fabrics and casual shirts. They basically work more on piece work. As we all
know garments industries has lots of competition, the best of the best is only selected
always. The finished products at Malasri garments mainly focuses of lower middle
class people as the pricing is also done to match their budget and standards. The
market has been low for garments for a few years. But the demand for the clothes are
present. Here at Malasri garments, the production happens in this way, the permanent
customer provides the fabrics(raw materials) to be stitched for and buys them once the
products are finally purchased by the customer. Here the customer refers to the person
who runs cloth sales business and gives orders to be completed by Malasri garments.
Also along with this, Malasri garments also have their own brand of clothes under the
name WHITENER and WESTERN CANON. They also have a wholesale business
of these two brands. Even though the market is low for these manufacturers, middle
class and lower middle class people make their business run at a good point. They
target the market keeping the factors like locality, taste of the people, price range and
many other factors in head. They target the market in this way and run their business.
But still their own brands which they manufacture have a less value at the market and
the one which they stitch and produce and send to other sellers have a little more
value.

OBSERVATIONS

I could personally observe that this Malasri garments having a manufacturing area of
10 thousand square-feet and rented at 27 thousand per month have a average business
being run. There is no laws that have applies here in this garments as it is a very small
one and the investment is about 15 lakh over all. The salaries paid are also very
average and I could see that there is no appointment process done here. A person joins
here only on the basis of previous experience in this work field. They take orders from
other persons and they complete works as stitching and manufacturing shirts in cotton
fabrics and also cotton linen mixed. They also have their own brands of clothes under
the name WHITENER AND WESTERNCANON. The works taken by them are
based on piece work. They take payments based on the material work done and
completed. It was also seen that there was no help or support given to them by
government or any of the institutions related to small scale industries. Overall I could
observe that the company was run on a normal daily basis and it was just running to
set lives of a few people working there. To go to a great success, the company has to
work a lot and they also said that in near future they are planning to make use of all
the sources available and set up a huge industry.
