Brief Introduction:
TCS is one of the biggest IT giants in India. The share values of TCS are facing severe
threats from other IT companies like Infosys, Wipro and many others.
Objective:
To forecast the future share values of TCS based on the current and past share values data
from last 1 year. In order to provide the accurate forecasting data, we have taken into account
the closing stock and opening stock of the IT giant. Apart from this, we have even compared
the data from the next best company i.e. Infosys and will be showing a detailed comparison in
stock prices for both the companies in next 6 months.

Reasons for selecting the data:
As the share value of a company is a major factor in determining the financial health of the
company and it has the ability to grow and increase the profits in the future. If we will be able
to forecast the future share values of the company, it will ultimately attract more investors to
the company and increase the profit for the company.
Step-1: Open the above links.
Step-2: Click on “Change” button
Step-3: We will enter the company name in “Enter company” tab.
Step-4: From the “Monthly” tab, we collected the last 12 months’ data.
Types of Analysis that will be performed:
1-Simple moving average forecasting method: Since we have the past 1-year data, so using
this method, we can easily find out the future trends the share price will follow for next 6
months.
2-Weighted moving average forecasting method: In order to forecast the trend better than the
simple moving average, we tried forecasting using weighted moving average method.
3-Linear regression: The main objective for choosing this analysis is that we can forecast the
share values keeping in mind the “opening” stock as the dependent variable and “closing”
stock as the independent variable.

4-Anova test: The main reason for conducting this analysis is to determine whether there are
any statistical significance differences between the means of 2 or more independent groups.
