Objectives
Generally, this contingency plan aims to sustain the perpetuation of the institution’s vision and mission and insures the safety of its faculty and staff,
learners and stakeholders. Specifically, this plan intends to:
a. Increase the awareness of everyone in the school and community on disaster, risks, hazards and vulnerabilities
b. Enhance disaster preparedness for effective responses
c. Prevent disasters and achieve substantial reduction of disaster risk and loses in lives, properties and other vital assets
d. Increase resilience and prevent the emergence of new disaster risks while at the same time reducing the existing ones
e. Provide a safe haven for learners to maximize and attain their full growth and potentials.
CONTINGENCY PLAN
Risk Probability Preparation
Constant inspection on school buildings for possible or any
existing damages is being undertaken. Evacuation plan in every
Earthquake High classroom or office is posted. Earthquake drills along with fire
drills are conducted every quarter involving employees, learners
and parents/guardians on scheduled basis. Pertinent signage can
be seen in all conspicuous sites of the buildings.
All buildings have complete fire alarm system along with fire
extinguishers that can be easily accessed. Fire drills are
conducted quarterly involving all employees and learners along
with their parents and guardians.

Basically, the ground floors of the school buildings are elevated
and the drainage system is improved. Covered walks are also
constructed and are slightly elevated and are therefore usable
even during heavy rain.

Response
All personnel, particularly teachers, shall facilitate calmness and will
execute properly coordinated instructions and measures for the safety of
everyone in the event of an earthquake.
Immediate personnel shall sound the alarm and call for fire service. The
teachers shall facilitate evacuation at once and making sure the following
are carefully observed:
 No running is to be permitted. Running can lead to panic.
 On staircases, everyone must descend in single file. Overtaking of
classes or individuals must not be permitted.
 Anyone who is not in class when the fire alarm sounds must go
immediately to the assembly point.
 No one must be allowed to re-enter the building until told to do
so by the fire service in attendance, or, by the school safety
officer.
 Immediately after classes have assembled at the assembly point,
a roll call or count must be made to check that no-one is still
inside.
Teachers will keep their pupils and students inside their classrooms and
assess the situation. In case of rise in water level, they have to bring the
learners to higher grounds within the school, particularly to the second
floor of the building. The teachers shall notify at once the parents
through their group chats and other contact platforms. The school safety
officer and authorities also maintain communication with the community
particularly the support agencies like the city NDRRMC, PNP, and the
 military, and the division office. The school will also follow guidance of
local authorities while keeping the learners safe.

In-service training, scholarship grants, and other professional
development trainings precede each school year. At least two to
three teachers are available every period during classes. Free
meal (lunch) for teachers is also provided
All school employees are covered with a health care program of
the school through PhilHealth. Tomboc-Salayog Hospital, being
the mother institution of Rockfort Preparatory School
Incorporated also provides them with hospitalization benefits
that includes all their immediate family members. Vacant
teachers are always available to takeover subjects or periods
missed by anyone admitted to the hospital.
The school has two (2) IT personnel who installed all IT
infrastructures and support resources and applications to ensure
continuous service to the learners.
Tomboc-Salayog Hospital Engineering and Maintenance
Department provides the school with logistics support as well as
manpower to maintain the school’s facilities and infrastructures.
One teacher resigning cannot affect the operation of the school.
However, should there be three or more leaving, the administration
considers the applicants in the waiting list or calls for immediate hiring.
The concerned employee (teacher) have to immediately inform the
principal, or better still, find available teachers to take charge of his/her
subjects with due approval by the school head prior to admission to the
hospital. The school will then coordinate with the management of the
hospital.
All two (2) IT personnel will check, assess and address the issue/s and let
operations (classes) resume as fast as possible. They can also be
deployed to the field or may solve technical problems remotely.
The school will immediately coordinate with the department to address
problems with its facilities and infrastructures and related issues and
concerns.
