1. Information is commonly referred to as processed data, data being the raw material. The key
factor here is that data needs to undergo certain processes before it becomes information. With
this in mind, give 5 examples of data being transformed into information. Present your work in a
creative and concise output that organizes the data, the process it will undergo, and the resulting
information.

2. If you have a phone, a laptop, or any similar kinds of technology, which 2 apps or softwares
do you use often to be more productive? Explain in no more than 5 sentences each how you
think these apps or softwares work and what makes them useful for you.

One of the most important applications that I personally would never survive as a student without is
the Microsoft Office Word. The Microsoft Office Word allows me to practice my skills in grammar
and composition. I can encode my requirements for school or type in a more private document. It
could be a personal journal or diary or a 500-word essay that I would need to submit the day after,
whichever it may be, this app definitely delivers. Aside from teaching me the technicalities of its
services, it also allows me to be more creative and improve the designs of the documents I create.

Another app that I became recently aware of is Canva. Canva is a free graphic design platform that
allows you to easily create invitations, business cards, flyers, lesson plans, Zoom backgrounds and
more using professionally designed templates. Because of the efficiency of its features and its modern
elaborate design, I came to love using it and honestly surprised I just came across it since its
emergence on 2012. But to me, one of the biggest advantages of this app is its price, it is absolutely
free despite the wide range of templates and features it provides without having to purchase the
premium package.

3. Think of any business around you (your local bank, convenience store, carinderia, etc.) and
identify ways on how you think they can be more productive.

The times are constantly changing, and the changes around us are mostly influenced by the technology
that is also constantly being developed by great innovators and minds of today. And because we need
to keep up with the modern world, we need to be able to adjust to these changes. Most of the local
businesses in my locality I believe have potential but because we are in rural area, most of the owners
close down because of few sales and fewer incomes. One of them includes the local coffee business
which produces and sell locally grown coffee. I would suggest for them to enter the online world and
focus on boosting their marketing skills for the netizens rather than just word of mouth. This way,
more and more potential customers can be aware of their products and improve productivity.
