New Service Announcement: New Air / Water / Structural Capabilities – Middleton, WI

Intertek is pleased to announce the expanded scope of accreditation at our lab in
Middleton, Wisconsin. An additional 13,500 square feet of indoor space has been added
to the lab to accommodate a Lexan Flat Wall (26’ wide x 13’ tall) and Steel Mock-Up Wall
(44’ wide x 16’ tall), which were previously located at our lab in Wausau, Wisconsin. The
Middleton lab is now home to equipment capable of testing of air, water, and structural
standards, including structural control panels, a hurricane and tornado missile impact
cannon, a dynamic wind machine (aka “the WOLF”), and thermal (Tenney) and high
pressure (BABS II) cycling equipment. The personnel from our Wausau facility have the
technical expertise and testing experience to guide complex construction projects
through completion.
“The additional space and expanded scope of services now available in Middleton
allows us to bring a more comprehensive suite of services to the growing building and
construction market,” says Brian Brunson, Operations Manager for the Middleton lab.
“The indoor mock-up capability is unique to the area allowing us to serve customers with
pre-construction air, water, and structural testing options to ensure success during the
final commissioning process. We have broadened our product testing capabilities to
include curtain walls, store fronts, louvers, and garage door products, just to name a
few. The extra space gives us the opportunity to meet the needs of larger scale roofing
and solar projects previously lacking in the Midwest region.”
Late last year, Intertek transferred its Wausau
capabilities to Middleton, Wisconsin, located just
outside of Madison. This move means greater
access to more capabilities in one location.
