Purpose and Criticality of the audit: -

• The purpose of this audit is to understand the level of service offered specifically by the Mi
Buddy. Xiaomi wants to understand if the staff is loyal to the brand and recommends Mi phones
to you and the way in which it is pitched to you, basis your stated requirements.
• The Mi Buddy is trained in a way that they must recommend only the Mi phones and no other
Brand. Hence, you need to ensure you try spending time with the Mi Buddy.
• The client places utmost importance on the data provided by you so please make sure that you
follow the guidelines as it affects the job of the employee evaluated

Day and Time of Evaluation:

• All Days, From: 11 AM to 8 PM


• Days may change basis government orders because of COVID
• Audit will take around 20-25 mins

How to conduct this audit: -

• Please make sure to call the store before your visit and confirm their working hours. You can
find out number from Xiaomi’s Website/Google Maps/JustDial etc.
o If in case the calls are not going through/you get to know the store closed – please
connect with your scheduler immediately to inform about it.
• Please follow the guidelines strictly to avoid rejection of your report. For this audit you will have
to do an initial research about Xiaomi products in terms of phones and TVs. After that, you will
have to visit the assigned store and observe the initial ambience of the store and check if there
are any signages of Mi present.
• Enter the store and check the number of customers present. Check Xiaomi
promotional/marketing materials in the store. Check if the Xiaomi Promoter (also known as Mi
Buddy) was present and note down the activity that he/she is doing

• You will have to check COVID specific touchpoints like were there instructions of social distancing
on the wall (stickers, posters, etc), was the Xiaomi promoter following set protocols of wearing a
mask, social distancing, etc, was the staff in the store following required measures

• Make a note of who approaches you first and check if Xiaomi staff approaches you at any point

• If nobody approaches you then you can proactively approach the Xiaomi staff and perform the
said scenario

• While interacting with Xiaomi staff check their grooming standards and communication skills

• If you cannot identify the Xiaomi promoter then make sure to conduct the audit with the store
staff or retailor and not with any other brand promoter

• You have to ask for a phone between the prices range specified by the Project Manager. Make
sure to capture ‘exact model/s’and ‘variant/s’(E.g. 3GB RAM 32 GB Storage or 4GB RAM 64 GB
Storage)of the phone/s recommended to you and the reason for making that recommendation
by the staff. Kindly note that you MUST get at least 2 brands recommendations including
competition model at the store.

• Kindly note if in case the focus/target model for the assigned budget range (as mentioned in
the table below) is not available in the store/out of stock, make sure to ask for it proactively
after you get first two recommendations. You MUST discuss about target/focus model at the
store WITHOUT FAIL even when they are not available in the store/out of stock. If in case it does
not happen report will be excluded.

Budget Ranges for Mi Preferred Partner (MiPP) Stores:

1. Rs. 6000 – Rs. 10000

2. Rs. 10000 – Rs. 15000

3. Rs. 15000 – Rs. 20000

4. Rs. 20000 and above

• You can ask them for a phone in the said budget range and wait for leading questions from them.
Note the questions asked to you and mention it in the report accordingly
o Wait for recommendation from the staff. Basis your needs the staff should recommend
at least 2 models. Make a note of the brands and model recommended and the position
at which they were recommended. Kindly note that you MUST get at least 2
recommendation at the store.
o Mention the reason for the recommendation (Nice camera, battery, etc)

• In case Xiaomi not recommended then proactively ask for Xiaomi phones and ask for specific
model basis your budget. Below is the list of those models:

• If the Xiaomi phone recommended to you is out of stock, please ask for other Xiaomi model in the
same budget range.
o E.g. Redmi Note 9 Pro (6GB/128GB or 8GB/128GB) was recommended to you at the store
in the budget range of Rs. 15000-20000 and the staff says it is currently 'Out of Stock',
please ask for another Xiaomi phone model in the same budget range.

• Make a note of all the features mentioned to you about the phone and what was the mode used
to explain those features (Demo phones, dummy phones, actual phone model etc)
• Raise a question on the KSP (Key selling point) of the phone. For eg : If liquid cooling is mentioned
then you can ask how liquid cooling helps., etc
• You will also have to do a product to product comparison with competition brand on the features
mentioned to you
• Please make a note if a dummy/demo device was given to you and if given was it sanitized before
handing it to you. Were you shown the features on a Spiel book or no
• If you observe Mi TV in the store, generally enquire about Mi TV and make a note of the features
mentioned about it

• Please MAKE SURE TO RAISE AN OBJECTION about any of the below things and check for the
response given:
o Heard that there are heating issues
o Heard that the camera quality is not as good as compared to some other brand models
o Heard that overall build quality is not good
o Heard that there are not enough service centers
o It is a Chinese company - will quality be good
o Made in India

Please NOTE even if the store staff said negative things about Xiaomi phone/s during the
discussion, you still need to ‘Raise an Objection’ as listed above while conducting the Mystery
Visit.

• Check if the person explained any ongoing schemes and offers about the phone, if not please ask
for the discounts proactively.

• Make a note of what was the initial price quoted to you and check if it is in line with the MRP
(Maximum Retail Price)

• Try and negotiate the price and get a discounted price for Xiaomi phones from the staff

• Check the difference between the price on the website (OSP) and price quoted to you (MRP or
SRP) in store

• Check if the staff tries to up sell or cross sell and if they try to close the deal

• You MUST spend at least 10-15 mins in the store


Please note that all the answers marked in the questionnaire must be supported with sufficient
comments narrating about experience. Please note that without detailed and sufficient comments or
proper supporting answers, the report will be excluded and no fee will be paid in such cases.

Proof of the Mystery Visits (POVs):

• Store Exterior Photograph with Date, Time and GPS imprinted on it


• Business Card
• Audio Recording of the Entire Visit – Kindly note your audio recording length should match the
length of your Mystery Visit.

PLEASE ‘DO NOT’ DELETE ANY POVs at least for ‘6 months’ post completion of your Mystery
Visit. Please ensure to save the all your POVs in PC/Laptop/Google Drive/Dropbox etc. before
you delete it from your cell phone.

Mystery Visit Procedure to Follow:

You can follow the below mentioned procedure while conducting the Xiaomi Mystery Visit/s

1. Switch on your cell phone’s Flight Mode

2. Start the Audio Recording

3. Record Outlet Name, Day, Date and Your Entry Time

4. Proceed to outlet and conduct the Mystery Visit as explained in the Flow of Mystery Visit above.

5. Exact Model Name and Variants of the phones recommended to you should be audible in the
recording.

6. Exit the store post completion of the Mystery Visit and record your Exit Time

7. Stop and save the audio recording and take a clear picture of the store exterior* with name of
the store clearly visible in it.

Reasons for report exclusion: -

• If you do not follow the correct scenario


• If the staff reports you as a mystery shopper
• If you do not complete the report within the timelines
• If you do not provide accurate information
• If the POVs are not uploaded or unclear
• If you are not available to answer our queries on your report
