The document discusses the importance of main ideas in delivering messages during presentations, seminars, or sermons. It defines main points as the major divisions of a presentation that each introduce one idea to help advance the central thesis. It recommends limiting presentations to 2-5 main points so audiences are not overwhelmed. Each main point should be phrased parallelly, stated concisely, and balanced in its development. Main points must also connect to the thesis and use clear transitions. Examples are provided of how to use main ideas to effectively deliver messages about adopting Sunnah-e-Rasool or trying again. The conclusion is that main ideas are necessary to deliver messages in a understandable way.

Topic : Main Ideas For Giving A Message PREPARING THE MAIN POINTS FOR A Message
DEFINITION: Main points are the major divisions
of the body of a presentation. Each main point introduces one idea, or makes one claim, that helps to advance the central idea (thesis) of the presentation.
LIMIT : the number of main topics in the body of the
presentation. Develop between two to five main points. Audiences often have trouble following a presentation that tries to cover too many major topics.
PHRASE : main points in parallel language if possible. The
similarity in wording that parallel phrasing introduces will help your audiences identify the major topics of the presentation. STATE :main points as concisely as possible. Use simple, declarative sentences to introduce each point you wish to make in the presentation.
BALANCE : the development given to each main point. Each
topic should receive roughly the same amount of time. If some points are developed at great length while others are just briefly noted, the presentation gives the impression that some main points are unimportant.
CONNECT : each main point to the thesis of your
presentation. The best way to avoid wandering off on a tangent is to ask yourself why this particular point is pertinent to the central idea of the presentation you are giving. Avoid the temptation to explore amusing facts and ideas which, while interesting in an of themselves, have very little to do with the central goal of your presentation.
USE : clear transitional statements to indicate movement to a
new point. Transitions alert the audience that you are finished with one point and are moving on. Without them, you risk leaving your audience behind as you advance to a new topic. Now ,Have you ever attended any sermon, seminar, or assembly ? What purpose they are held for ? They are held to teach a message of few words containing large meanings. So, we can say that the main purposes of seminar and sermons are to give messages. It means if the audience could not pick the message then our seminars are useless. So, we should make speech in such a way that our audience could get a message. To fulfill this purpose main ideas are necessary. The speaker collects examples, events ,stories , quotes etc for giving his message. These are main ideas of his speech.By Adapting them he could deliver his message. Main Ideas are necessary because if you will try to give a message of two lines by talking for two minutes a man he would turn deaf ear to your message For Example : If we want to give the message to adopt “Sunnah-e-Rasool(S.A.W.W)” then we shall prepare main ideas for it and tell the people about the Sunnahs , their advantages and the about the people who adopted them. Another example is that if we want to give a message of “Try,Try again” then we shall select main ideas for that and then we speak to our audience according to that ideas. This is a better way to deliver your message. So, From this we can conclude that without main ideas , it is difficult to deliver our message and we should have main ideas to deliver our message in a better and understandable way .
