STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

It will be the aim of the study to determine the level of awareness of farmers in using
PPE in Maydolong Eastern Samar in using Personal Protective Equipment.

Specifically, it will seek to answer the following questions:

1. What are the Personal Protective Equipment to be used by the farmers in

Maydolong, Eastern Samar.
2. What is the Level of Awareness of farmers in using Personal Protective Equipment in
Maydolong, Eastern Samar?
3. What are the reasons of farmers in Maydolong, Eastern Samar not using Personal
Protective Equipment?

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

In order to achieve the purpose of the study the following objectives are drawn:

1. Determine the kinds of Personal Protective Equipment to be used by farmers in

Maydolong, Eastern Samar.
2. Find out the level of awareness of farmers in Maydolong, Eastern Samar in using
Personal Protective Equipment.
3. Discover the reasons of farmers in Maydolong, Eastern Samar for not using Personal
Protective Equipment.

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION OF THE STUDY

In order to determine the Level of Awareness of Farmers in using PPE in Maydolong

Eastern Samar. The study will be conducted in the interior barangays of Maydolong, namely:
Maytigbao, Lapgap, San Gabriel, Del Pilar and Tagaslian, all in the municipality of
Maydolong, Eastern Samar. This study will be conducted during the Second Semester of
School Year 2020-2021.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

This study will benefits the following:

The Farmers will become knowledgeable on Personal Protective Equipment which is

very essential to their nature of work to lessen hazard in their workplace.
 The Department of Agriculture will become more aware on how to introduce
Personal Protective Equipment to local farmers of Maydolong to minimize hazard in farming.

The Local Government Unit of Maydolong will provide more attention to local
farmers to support local products and increase livelihood sustainability to farmers.

The TLE Faculty will become knowledgeable in this matter which will be introduce to
neophyte TLE students.

The Consumers will be ensured that local agricultural products from Maydolong is
sustainable.

To draw an extension program benefiting the farmers on the proper use of Personal
Protective Equipment.

DEFINITION OF TERMS

The following are deemed useful in the study:

Level of awareness. is the manifestation of favourable knowledge towards

something.

PPE. (Personal Protective Equipment) refers to any specialized equipment or

clothing worn by farmers for protection against health and safety hazards.

Respiratory Protection. Provide protection from inhalation hazards such as vapors,

mists, particulates, pesticides, and gases.

Hand Protection. Provide protection during exposure to potential hazards such as

sharp objects, abrasive surfaces, temperature extremes, and chemical contact.

Head Protection. Provide protection to potential hazards such as falling objects,

striking against low-hanging object, electrical hazards, or chemical application.
