Education plays a vital role to all of us as it introduces us the importance of knowledge, such
as essential facts or job skill that later will assist us in enhancing our personal lives and having
a better life or future.
People nowadays are confused between studying abroad or studying locally.
It is important for people especially students to understand the similarities and differences
between studying locally and studying abroad to make the best decision regarding their
education.
The similarities between studying abroad and studying locally is both require students to study
hard.
 Both education locally and abroad have their own standardized education.
 Students must attain a certain level of standardized education in order to be accepted
into a university for further study according to the university they choose.
 For instance, a student in Jordan must pass a standardized university exam, indicating
that the student has achieved a certain level of education.
Both local and overseas education institutions have their own standardized education and keep
improving and continuously being developed to produce more competitive and hardworking
students.
Both studying abroad and studying locally provide opportunities to develop lifelong
friendships.
 Students stay together with new friends who eventually become their family as they
are the ones that always be with them at their highest and lowest moments.

Technology is the knowledge, skills, methods and techniques required to produce tools and
equipment for people’s needs. For instance, the internet is one of the technologies that widely
used not only as a source of information but also a medium that links almost every aspect of
our life. The Internet is both a source of great comfort and unlimited access, as well as a
source of great vulnerability. In a world of the internet, we are surrounded by infinitely
complex virtual networks, barely able to track where our information is coming from and
going and thus posing a threat not only to our lives but also to the lives of our children.
During this pandemic situation, there has been a rapid increase in internet users. There are a
significant number of children among the users. The internet usage is essential for children
too, but there are certain disadvantages that can directly affect children. If a proper check is
not ensured and guidance not given to children, then it can lead to some dangerous situations
which can affect not only the physical but also the mental health of children.
What are the effects of the internet on children?
Sleeping disorder
 Children as well as adult can suffer from sleeping disorders.
 Technology for kids should not only be supervised in terms of what they’re doing and
where but also in terms of for how long and when.
 The risk of developing an addiction is common among children and adults.
 Addiction of internet will cause children to use the medium without knowing when to
stop. They will prioritize it more that their sleep, hence they will feel tired or sleepy.
 This will eventually cause lack of sleep which has a tremendous negative effect on
school, works and all kinds of daily routines.
 Having the right measure of Internet safety for kids will prevent lack of sleep.
Addiction on Internet can lead to sleeping disorder among children.
Obesity
 Obesity among children is a serious concern nowadays.
 One of the aspects that contributes to the increase of obesity among children is

 There are chances that the kids can be exposed to online games that promote violence
that will attract children’s attention easily.
 Children can be influenced by the games and do violent stuff.
 For instance, an online game called blue whale killed thousands of children all around
them as it provokes children to attempt suicide. This game tells them to make a
scratch in their hands through the blade after every stage.
 It proved that Internet leads to social maladaptation and violent or suicide attempt.
Social maladaptation is behavior of avoidance of school attendance, permanent
disobedience to parents and educators, vandalism, lies and else. These behaviors are
promoted through online games which has been exposed to children.
Social maladaptation and violent or suicide attempt are negative impacts on children on using
the Internet.
In conclusion, there are many effects of the Internet to the children.
Addiction of Internet can cause sleeping disorder, social maladaptation, violent or suicide
attempt and increase the rates of obesity among children.
Apart from the negative effect of the Internet, there are also positive impacts. Parents should
monitor their children’s Internet use and engage in their online activities to ensure that the
Internet benefit from them without being exposed to the potential dangers.
