MY HOMETOWN

I live in Apitaik, which is tiny village in the eastern Lombok province. I was born
and raised there. The village is famous for it’s culture, for example “Rebo
Buntung ritual”. Until now we are continue to preserve ancestral tradition of
the Rebo buntung ritual. Tradition is believed as a procession of thanks to lord,
while also maintaining the harmony of man with nature.
I love living in Apitaik village. There’s always something interesting going on.
Living in Apitaik suits me. It’s cozy place for me and it’s small enough that you
can get to know your neighbours and have sense of community.
Apitaik's nice, but sometimes I find it boring, There’s not much for young
people to do, So many young man work outside the village.
Apitaik has changed a lot in the last seven years, There used to be so few
buildings in this village, but now Lots of new buildings and Many young men
left the village to work, college (including me) and go with her husband for the
married one. The atmosphere every year is different.
Apitaik is an easy village because the road from Mataram city to Apitaik is a
straight shot. So this village is not a village closed to outsiders.
I think the village of apitaik is the best. A lot of good memories would make for
a good story in my life, the most memorable thing in this village was the
ambience during the fast, up to eid and the maulid of the prophet muhammad
(peace and blessings be upon him)
All those memories will be witnesses of how comfortable I was living in the
village of Apitaik. I can say definitely it is my favorite place.
